Bruce, we thought about doing that, but decided against it in order to save weight and make for a bag that when off the bike is nice and collapsible. The Vendetta version bags are here in hand. The Silvio version is fresh off the line today - so they are ready. Robert

The 4000's are like riding on ice hoops on an ice rink. Ugh. I honestly do not know why people like those tires. The Panaracers are very grippy - maybe a bit "slower" than the contis but I never worry about washing out. I will have to try the ONE's - have not tried those myself.

The newer iterations of the Silvio that have the front clamps around the BB shell can not take a Schlumph - it is physically not possible. It would also add weight to the front MBB which would not improve the handling at all. The new S30 fork is 132.5 spacing so technically hubs can fit, but...

This is a great thread and definitely technique and practice are the order of the day. The effects for me became much more subtle over time and now I barely notice the inputs anymore unless on a sudden sprint.

Jim has hit all the nails on the heads here in this thread. I will also add that these things develop with time and are skills that one has to put the time in to master. That is not to say they are difficult - they just need to be mastered. Particularly the V20 and also the S30 - these bikes...

Another great bar and my new personal favorite is the Salsa Woodchipper. I cut 1.5" off the ends and it is a sweet bar. Nice flat sections to load on the power, and it positions the hoods straight ahead and not sideways in the wind. Riding the hoods is easy. Personally do not like the bullhorn...

With your X-seam a Large will put the handlebars right in your lap without a stem extension. You would want a medium. However, there are no longer any mediums in stock until the next batch of V20's are ready.

I would say - especially for the V - "the bike will always be faster than you are" This is NOT true for many other recumbents. They all have a ceiling. Some are low and others are higher. The V is the highest.

Hmm, I am not sure this is a realistic idea in real riding. In a wind tunnel under controlled conditions maybe but otherwise the fabric would likely fill full of air and act like a giant sail. It is already rough with a full disc wheel and a wind (which rarely hits dead on). It will be...
