Routing Internal Cable Housing on the Silvio 2.0

My .02 - A continuous run of My .02 - A continuous run of housing will save a lot of headache in the long run and actually be smoother over a longer time since there are less entry points for dust/moisture/etc. It also makes replacing a broken or too-frayed cable a million times...

160 mm rotor on the back wheel?

Double confirmed! It fits Double confirmed! ;-) It fits without any issue. Be sure to dial that brake in lightly - a 160 on the back is a lot of brake for the bike.

    "energy-sucking handlebar-on-a-stick" ???

I have never noticed that I have never noticed that much flex in the front ends of these bikes unless on an extreme climb where i was left with nothing else but to mash and counter-steer. In a good pedal rhythm there should not be any need to pull or push on the bars at all. In fact I am...

Seat Bags and Frame Bags for Silvio

I would be concerned about I would be concerned about how much weight is behind the rear axle and how the handling was affected. It would be a good experiment. The best place for any weight is where those red bags are. Ideal. Robert

Learning to ride a MBB - are the difficulties in the mind?

This has been my experience This has been my experience for just about every recumbent - Cruzbike or not - for people who are new. If they perceive a lot of learning and learned skill needed, and they have it in mind that "oh my this is going to be hard" it almost ALWAYS is hard. Those...

    Reading the tea leaves II

It is very easy for all of us It is very easy for all of us here (and long time recumbent riders in general) to come up with a ton of variations on a theme, but the reality is that for any recumbent to hit mainstream it has to be in an arrangement that requires little to no tinkering and be...

    Reading the tea leaves II

Great thread here. I like Great thread here. I like relating the feeling of riding a Cruzbike (or any recumbent really) to the same "discovery" that a kid has riding a bike. It is also a paradigm that most people can wrap their mind around. When selling a recumbent though, I typically...

Front wheel drive and why it fails the "stability when you most need it" test.

Yikes. That was a lot of Yikes. That was a lot of commentary with literally zero evidence or examples to support the theory. More of a "I cant do it therefore its no good" perspective. That said - it is not surprising and I have to agree with scabinetguy. Could easily say that about any...

    Vendetta or Silvio?

After spending some time on After spending some time on both I would agree that the V is a "faster" bike overall. Both have their strengths and some of what will make one faster over another include terrain where you ride, how well you can generate power at a given recline angle, BB height and...

Rack solution for the Silvio 2.1

Good options being explored. Good options being explored. Use caution if placing any significant weight behind the rear axle - adverse handling can result (at least that has always been my experience on RWD highracers) Best place for pannier weight is in front of the rear axle suspended...

Anyone running Hutchinson Sector tyres and do they fit the Vendetta?

25mm will fit but the 25mm will fit but the clearance is close as noted. Some tires have a rounder profile than others. Provides a smoother ride than 23's however, so that is a plus.

    BYE-BYE PUSH-PULL

Dan, Sounds like you are on Dan, Sounds like you are on your way to a smoother spin and eventual hands off riding. Not recommended to do much of, but it is a very cool feeling to be pedaling a MBB FWD bike no hands. It can be done! Robert

    Newbie Rider Report

The pedals and shoe combo you The pedals and shoe combo you select will have a big impact on your experience with clipless pedals. Some are easier to get in/out of than others, some allow for a bit of "float" which can be a good/bad thing depending on your riding style, goals, natural foot...

25mm Tires are nearly perfect 25mm Tires are nearly perfect for a Silvio (or Vendetta for that matter) Just enough clearance and the ride is very plush on the Silvio compared to my former highracers. I am running Panaracers in 25mm and they are great.
