Testing week in Asheville, NC June 25 - July 1

I think I have the seat "tilted" back to the lowest position with the existing holes. I'll have another look at it, and since I need to swap out the cranks, hopefully I can make the seat a little more reclined.

    Silvio S 30 Thailand

I think this is because you can "pull down and then back" with your extended foot quicker and with much more power when your toes are pointed up than with your toes pointed. The caveat is also that you must have the correct crank length to make sure your legs are not over-extended during the...

    Portland Cruzbike retreat

I'm not taking my bike with me: Robert said he has this he could loan me (must be an experimental version! ) haha Seriously there doesn't need to be any leveling of the playing field. Ratz and Lief can both probably wipe me off the road!

Website suggestions for educating self re: Rotor Q rings

David, why do you try and keep your HR below 136bpm? I can hardly go up any hill of any length with any decent speed and keep my pulse under 136! Specific aerobic training regime, or condition that limits you in some way?

    Sore back V20

Yes, but will they "come out of their closet"? - that is the question??:D:p Any why are they in the closet? Where they bad? Did their wife's send them there because they spent too much time and money on their bikes? - Or - maybe it's a bike shop/workroom type of closet - who knows! ;)

Website suggestions for educating self re: Rotor Q rings

I'm definitely no expert in this area, but from what I have seen, heard and ridden myself, it is my impression that the triple setup would only be needed for a super heavy laden bike that is going to be expected to climb extremely long and arduous climbs. I envision someone doing a cross-country...

    Sore back V20

Best idea if you can do it. Where do you live? If you are lucky enough to live within reasonable driving distance of Lumberton, NC - you can ask for a personal meeting with the owners (yes - believe it), and they have every version of Cruzbike available to try. .. or Portland where Robert is...

Website suggestions for educating self re: Rotor Q rings

I was searching for a thread about Enduro XD-15 BB for you and figured I might as well steer you here: http://cruzbike.com/forum/threads/vendetta-v20-build-diary-2016.10189/#post-118508 Even though it is about a V20 build, it has tons of useful information about just about every component you...

    Garmin alternatives- Wahoo, anyone?

Yes - it is definitely a pain in the !@#$%^ - the bluetooth thing - design flaw no doubt. The Wahoo head unit looks pretty nice. I just have never had much luck getting my Garmin Pedals to sync up with other apps on my smartphone - so I might be stuck with Garmin for now. My 510 is almost 2...

    Garmin alternatives- Wahoo, anyone?

Rick, I think I have the 510 - isn't that the one with the touch screen? Mine automatically sync's the data to Garmin when it is connected via bluetooth, so I rarely use the USB for data transfer, only to charge it. I like the Garmin fine enough - although I have had the issue that the bluetooth...

Chain WAXing (yes it's that easy) - and other mysteries of this art!

Yes - both places appear to have 10-speed, but not 11-speed chain. Heck - I am pretty sure Cruzbike has a QBP account - Maybe if Robert sees this thread he can jump in and let us know if he can get the bulk chain. 10SL, and 11SL would be nice, but even for training the "SL" is not really necessary.

Chain WAXing (yes it's that easy) - and other mysteries of this art!

I have a friend who works for a company here in town that has a QBP account - He has purchased stuff for the whole shop and myself on several occasions. I'll check and get back with the group.

Suggestions for a new bike carrier

I am still very happy with it, although it does have one minor drawback for me. When I want to run my disk wheel, I have to mount another wheel on the bike and put the disk in the car, since the bike must hang from the wheels on this rack. Other than that, I am still very happy with it. Used it...

    Portland Cruzbike retreat

Great to hear you are still going Suz - It will be very memorable for sure! I also just heard from Maria that there will be about 20 people attending this Portland Cruzbike Retreat! That is fantastic! Looking forward to meeting everyone! :):D

Morciglio Hammerhead testing results To the best of my knowledge this Morciglio Hammerhead is a custom made MBB-FWD recumbent made by John Morciglio. I think he only made one other one, and it was different in several ways so for now, this is a one-of-a-kind! I also believe that he told me that...

    Portland Cruzbike retreat

Surprise: I have cancelled my Velodrome racing at Northbrook, IL which is the same weekend and have signed up to come to this Portland Cruzbike retreat! Just got finally clearance from my job, and my wife (Gayle), and got my flight tickets. .. Double bonus - I'll get to go and visit my...

Chain WAXing (yes it's that easy) - and other mysteries of this art!

I have experienced the same thing - The only issue I have ever had is once in a while a link seems to get "stuck" and will not move freely. If that happens, then I just take it and move it back and forth by hand until it is freed up.

    I second that!:D

    Q ring upgrade - Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh......

Interesting stuff Ratz - way over my head (I thought you just "pedal harder" when you get to the steep hills! (wink, wink) ) .. Kline, I have a 53-QXL on my V20, and my FD (Di2) works fine with it.

Chain WAXing (yes it's that easy) - and other mysteries of this art!

You just need to find out where to get the "continuous" length, and then cut it up as you need it. Sounds like something Cruzbike could/should even do. Robert could just have a huge "reel" of it and then chop it up in "Cruzbike" lengths. Then we would only need a single master link!
