Your Max Speed on a Cruzbike

Jason: For these to be verified & certified, we are going to need some video I think! haha Be safe out there (Due to all the slides I've taken, I just don't seem to have the "heart" or desire to see how fast I can go anymore - Maybe I'm just getting old - or don't feel invincible anymore like I...

    Recumbent Newbie

Great job on the build - Looks so much like a Vendetta that it could pass for an early prototype!

You can fix just about anything temporarily with zip-ties and duct tape!

    Core temperature

Most of us can relate - changing the front tire is no picnic. My worse experience was kind of "opposite" of yours at least from the "heat index" aspect. It happened to me a on an extremely "cold and rainy" day. I actually got to flats that day - I was about ready to scream - and throw the bike...

    I'll just hop that curb!

Bummer Joe - Hope you and your bat-mobile are ok now! I won't try that since you did - I mostly like sliding down the road on my butt! :)

    Riding with DF groups

I decided to take a step on the "wild side" and go join the regular Tuesday night group ride that is about a 20 minute drive away from my house. I was told they leave promptly at 6pm, and ride a 26 mile loop, and that the "fast group" does it in about an hour. I was also told about 60 cyclists...

    Visibility Flags

It just points out to the guys on the DF's that you are so fast that you can even pull a couple flags and still whiz by them!

I guess he learned it was better to watch from the basket than dangle from the leash! Smart dog.

The Road to 500 miles in 24hrs

Oh yeah - and my favorite one: Are you disabled, since you have to ride this thing? ... and then they ride with you and see you are clearly NOT disabled - but instead, they are!

The Road to 500 miles in 24hrs

Yep - There's time to slow down and smell the roses, and there's time to put the hammer down! Variety is the spice of life - and of course it's always good to know you can "put the hammer down!" Keep healing. :) .. Sure wish some of us where not so far away from the others - It would be really...

The Road to 500 miles in 24hrs

.. Step #2 is the challenge. I average 23.5 yesterday for 100 miles with 5K climbing which means I was hammering hard most of the time. I came upon quite a few riders, but most where going <18, so most I could do was slow down, say hi, and then take back off. There is a group ride on Tuesdays...

    Hawkeye Downs HPRA Weekend 2016

Things needed; nothing you don't already have or use: Helmet with certification sticker they can see left, right mirrors (handlebar or hand mounted) working front and rear brakes tires with air. There is a quick "safety" inspection before the races that you must go through and pass - they will...

The Road to 500 miles in 24hrs

Sounds like a great plan Jason! btw - I actually rode a century on real roads in my area for the first time in a long time. I was alone, so that wasn't too much fun, but I did it, and it was great - and of course better than riding around a velodrome 300 times, or a track 400 times!

    Q ring upgrade - Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh......

Ratz, I think you are pretty much the KING of Power (KOP) on a Cruzbike; any Cruzbike. Loner or no loner - I don't think I can ever match you up a hill unless your chain drops, or I distract you in some way! - But that doesn't mean I won't keep trying!:p:);)

    Q ring upgrade - Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh......

This is right on target with my testing and my perceived "effort", and perceived "differences" when switching back and forth from round to Q-rings. I even did some testing riding at 110 and 120 rpms as well, and truthfully when pedaling that fast, there is really no noticeable difference as long...

    Take-aways from Portland retreat

Taking a break from crawling on my hands and knees installing flooring in my hall (help me - I'm on the floor and I can't get up!!), and thought I would post my take-aways from the Cruzbike weekend: There were so many things that others have already commented on that where awesome: Robert's "ask...
