I'm interested in group training. Don't have Trainer Road, but could get it. 1700 miles is a long way to go for a race, especially if driving is necessary because air travel is risky. But I'm planning to go back to the 6-12-24 WTTC in Borrego Springs. Some chance that race might not happen, too...

The longer fork from the Sofrider would raise the front end of the Bike Friday. I don't think the Bike Friday can take a larger rear wheel. So do you think it would be a problem to have the front end raised?

I'm thinking about converting our Sofrider into a tandem, and found this old thread. What does the Tribe think about replacing the aft end of the Sofrider with the aft end of a Rans Stratus (from the bottom bracket of the Stratus back)?

FWIW, I used a 650b rear wheel for the 6-hour race at Borrego Springs. Front end felt a little "heavier", but handling was fine for a relatively flat time trial with just four turns per lap. For a technical mountain descent, a 700c wheel would still be best.

I think strength training aimed at core strength helps in all cases. For endurance rides/races it will help with control when fatigued.
