What did you do to your Cruzbike today?

Looks like we crossed paths on Saturday. I was one of the Grizzly Peakers. No fenders on my bike, though.

    Deep Rims

I'm thinking I'd like to copy Rojo's choice of wheels since I need disc brakes for the hilly terrain and I really want to try tubeless (6 flats last week) and I may as well get aero wheels if I'm going to change them. But the DTSwiss hubs that support disc brakes are 142*12 and @Robert Holler...

@RojoRacing, have you run tubeless on your Acebike wheels? If yes, how did it or has it worked out? -Cliff

    Thinking about an S30...

I commute on my S30 2-3 times per week. I use the Cruzbike Scarab Bag to hold a laptop (13" Macbook Pro), pants, and shirt. It fits under the low part of the frame (you can see it in my profile photo). I put shoes, socks, underwear, wallet, etc plus tools in a Bacchetta Brain Box on the back of...

    It's Mallet Season

How does SRAM Blackbox GXP compare with XD-15? Have you done a side-by-side? I recall a video with a side-by-side, but can't remember if it was the Blackbox GXP.

    S30 Shock disablement

One inch diameter? The hose clamp I got at the hardware store is 11/16" to 1-1/4" diameter, but 1/2" width. Is that about right? -Cliff

    It's Mallet Season

I sent Chris two emails about the out-of-stock status of the XD-15 with no reply. So I found a XD-15 at bikebling.com and ordered it. @ratz, do you recommend I return it? -Cliff

    It's Mallet Season

I noticed that RWC is out of stock of the XD-15. Is that because of the quality control problems? What is the nature of the QC problems? -Cliff

    Seat Mod

In the end I did things a little differently than @Rick Youngblood. I used 1/8-inch thick rubber gasket material from Ace Hardware to form a spacer by cutting the rubber in the shape of the wings, shortening the width to 3 inches to provide clearance for the ribs of the seat. I used two layers...

    Seat Mod

I'm going to do the same thing. I ordered the rubber already. I could cut off the ends of the wings to help avoid interference with the ribs of the seat. That would allow me to use a block with a lower height. But I think I'll keep the wings as-is and go with a taller block. -Cliff

    Seat Mod

The front edge of the Thor is a little over 2 inches forward of the holes in the wings (near edge of black tape). The front edge of the Cruzbike seat is a little over 1 inch forward of the holes in the wings (near edge of grey tape). -Cliff

    Seat Mod

My size large Thor seat makes contact with the S30 frame at three points (see diagram). This configuration produces a good orientation for the seat (see photos comparing original seat and Thor seat). The point of contact at the wings looks like the attached photo of the underside of the Thor...

Would drilling a 7/32 hole thru the front of each rib at the wings weaken the seat? -Cliff

    Seat Mod

I purchased a Thor seat for my S30 (original, fully-suspended). I'm thinking of mounting it with screws at the wings designed for mounting the original seat, then using Velcro at the point that the Thor makes contact with the frame (up closer to the top of the frame) and also using a tie wrap at...
