READ: Chainstay Clamps PSA and PRO Tip

Hmmm I am not sure how this would be happening as long as the stay/fork/boom are aligned "neutral" before tightening in order skewer, then stay clamps and making sure the pivot clamp is aligned right.

READ: Chainstay Clamps PSA and PRO Tip

Ok all - I go over this in all of the assembly videos but it seems to me missed way too often: Please DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN your chain stay clamps. Every time I see a broken one it is the same pic - the surfaces are mated completely against one another - that is TOO tight and if you do this - they...

Belt drive on a thru-axle Cruzbike

I am of the opinion that a good clean chain drive will always be king and always be the preferred drivetrain. I have seen studies that belts are not more efficient until over a specific wattage - and it was of a wattage that a lot of riders are only at during their peak anyway - so there is no...

    New S40 Owner

The "quality" of how the shipping companies handle items that go into their trucks just about makes me SICK. Particularly as they arrive from Taiwan in PRISTINE condition every time - loaded into the truck right side up with 100% care. Then, unleash the US delivery services and its all bets are...

    Q45 new handlebar review

Great review! I would say thins is about 60% accurate - it was designed for a bit of a new rider in mind. Note though it was also designed width wise to accommodate the use of MTB style trigger shifters, which always sit inboard on the bars - creating a lot if interference. The bars are very...

For Robert Holler - 2021 S40 hub spacing?

That is a typo. It is through axle 142 - same as the Q45.

Upgrading S40 circa 2019. Need tech advice

The wheels have hubs made by Chosen in Taiwan. They are some of the smoothest around and used by a lot of manufacturers.

    What piece is this?

If you have a hardware store close that has decent hardware selection you should be able to source that bolt and washer quickly. We can send one but it wouldn't be able to get out till Monday.

    New S40

Slim, I am pretty sure with the stock wheels a 38c will fit. The limiting factor is the crown height. usually for tires bigger than 32c (at least with our stock 700c rims) I recommend changing to a 650b anymore. But we don't have that as an option on the S40...

Results of installing a Viscoset headset in an S40

The new S40 will have the mid Viscoset. In my testing the high was just a bit too much - especially if you do any urban riding like I do where I am contstantly making 90 degree turns. Its awesome at high speed... but for overall the mid seems to be the winning ticket. Robert

    Shipping questions

If you are looking for a box to send a Cruzbike and don't have the original one we use - a larger box from a bike shop that sells mountain bikes or bikes should work. Robert

    Commuting on V20 and S40.

To answer the OP question though - the S40 is really the commenter/tourer. Capable of hauling 4 panniers plus a trunk with aplomb. The V20 is the race bike. Yes It can be set up to do some fast touring - but the rear end is very light compared to the S40 rear end. Maybe for some credit cart...

    Commuting on V20 and S40.

The new S40 underseat rack is a simple bolt-on rack that I think will be the preferred way to carry bags on that bike for sure. I designed it during the early Covid lockdown last spring while at home. Its finally here and it is a WIN!

    New S40

This is a good question - and really I would say the frame set vs. complete S40 is a question of component avalability for you or the shop you get components from... lots of parts are scarce nowadays so building up from a frame *might* be a challenge depending on the spec you are hoping for...

    New S40

This run of S40's will fit 32c (the stock tire) with a fender. Much winning.

    New S40

Indeed it is - all previous S40's can use the Viscoset headset as it is a standard size EC style headtube. The fact that we have pulled off these changes mid-pandemic and been able to weave through the manufacturing process where RAMPANT supply issues of raw material and components are a...
