Very elegant! This would work well on the Vendetta too, for those who want a rigid bike. It has a perfect place for a water bottle! actually, I think water and bags are better under the seat if they are any substantial weight. But this looks really cool, and would keep the aero.

Did you ride the Wildflower? I live in Chico, and am quite surprised I am one of only a few recumbent riders here. Not a Cruzbike, but a Performer highracer. I did not manage to get on the Wildflower ride this year. I might ask to see your Silvio in person one of these days. ;)

That is pretty close to what I was thinking. Good catch! Those Free Rider bars are kind of long, and would be flexy. I was envisioning a threadless stem attached at the very top of the boom, just in front of the headset. I figured that would give the shortest, stiffest bar option, and eliminate...

Maybe mount the bars on the boom tube? Perhaps just a regular headset and a stem and bars mounted to the upper end of the boom tube. Try and keep them as short as possible. It would also allow for a straighter arms. Knee clearance might crop though.
