Optimizing Fit - Eliminate Recumbutt/Hot Foot

I think this should be a useful thread all together about how to fix recumbutt on S40 and other fit issues). Lets discuss. I've never ridden a V20 but Iam blessed to have a S40 gifted to me by some great friends here. I love my S40 and I ride it alot despite my initial fit and hotfoot...

Help me decide: s40 or v20

Well, this is a nice disccussion. @cruzKurt , glad you finally got a V20! I've never ridden a V20 but Iam blessed to have a S40 gifted to me by some great friends here. I love my S40 and I ride it alot despite my initial fit and hotfoot issues. I can personally confirm that the S40 with the...

New Adjustable Carbon Fiber Seat and Headrest for the Cruzbike V and S series

Considering the bottom tabs for attaching the seat are still the same, can the old sliding bottom plate be bolted on top new seat to extend it at the base?, .. Just thinking ..

    Affordable Power Meters

:D:D:D , only way to expose any fit isssues and unreliable equipment is a long ride! A little sight of the African Savanah (before the rain). That's a termite hill the bike is leaning on. Some can grow pretty big!

    Affordable Power Meters

Went out for a long ride yesterday and got caught in a downpour. The power meter still worked flawlessly even in the wet conditions.

    Affordable Power Meters

Thanks Don! At some point I asked myself, what was I thinking! :D:D Anyway, it's here now. Let me make the best out of it.

    Affordable Power Meters

Hello good people! I haven't posted for a while, but Iam still doing well and enjoying my S40! I have consistently noticed that I climb faster on my upright roadbike than I do on my recumbent. Besides the difference in weight , maybe 3Kgs or so, it still puzzles me why such a big performance...

Here's why pedal-steer is smaller than you think

Excellent explanation. In addition , when riding hands free, I think, the opposite leg also helps to counter that "a" component of the pedal force to cancel the steering effect. As you apply more force to climb or accellerate the value of the "a" component also also proportionately increases...

    Cruzbike S40 in Nairobi, Kenya!

.. about the power. Mine is a subjective judgment really, especially on the climbs. I have no power metre to trully compare, so probably Iam actually producing similar power values but my S40 is 3Kgs, maybe 3.5Kgs more than my old Aluminium upright roadbike.

    Adrian's V20 Tail Box

Very nice! And it doubles up as a rear fender too!

    Cruzbike S40 in Nairobi, Kenya!

Sometimes my cycling groupmates don't like drafting me especially on windy conditions. I just didn't realise how much smaller my frontal area is. Now I understand why: Probably I should trim 2 inches off my handlebar drops and cover my rear triangle for some marginal gains too. Now, if only...

Are you a pusher or puller?

Agreed. I think Iam a puller when climbing or accellerating.. maybe. Everything seems second nature for me that sometimes it's hard to tell whether Iam actually pulling or pushing or a little of both ( rythmic, alternating push/pull).

    Cruzbike S40 in Nairobi, Kenya!

Very true. I was at my peak in the year 2019 and partly towards the end of 2020 then things dropped. Worst point was when I got my first COVID-19 vaccine this year . Was a tough time. I may have probably picked up the virus earlier but never got to test for it. I believe this bike is very...

    Cruzbike S40 in Nairobi, Kenya!

Thanks. It's food for thought. Probabaly will be a bit faster on the downhill but I wonder what will happen on the climbs and handling on the busy traffic parts of the roads. The bike still needs to be all round capable. I think I also need to improve my fitness, I have ridden the same...

    Cruzbike S40 in Nairobi, Kenya!

Another group ride. Should hopefully be a nice one to watch especially to see group riding dynamics. This time I made some tactical mistakes in the group ride and got dropped. Adrenaline can indeed cheat one into thinking they are invincible!

    Cruzbike S40 in Nairobi, Kenya!

Agreed. Same here. But what we are saying is: what are the good starting points before those final fine adjustments can be made?

    Cruzbike S40 in Nairobi, Kenya!

Thanks @JerseyJim . There was once a cruzbike fit thread by @ratz some time back with some formulas here: https://forum.cruzbike.com/threads/v20-finding-that-fit.11520/ It's quite theoritical but makes for a good starting point or discussion. For me, personally, the key is to get the quads...
