    Cruzbike S40 in Nairobi, Kenya!

Another weekend ride video. Shoulder mounted camera (Unfortunately my exposure setting was too low. Scenes look a bit too dark. Apologies):

The G4 Bicycle , Potential MBB/Cruzbike Diversification Candidate?

Yeah, q-factor would be a concern in addition to the general complexity of the double chain drive and wheel change. Well, good effort though, and besides it's never wrong to think out of the box sometimes. The Cruzbike MBB design is still the simplest front wheel drive iteration in my opinion.

T50 on YouTube: Spring Equinox 200K

Watched the video, nice work there! How's the seat after 9hrs on it? Any recumbutt issues? I get a mild one on my S40, manageable though. Probably one day I might change the seat when I get some time and see how it feels.

S40 Chainring - for lower gearing

I use 11-speed Sunrace 11-46 Cassette with the stock SRAM Apex that came with my S40 and it works. Below I changed my chain ring to 48T and added a couple of links but the stock 42T SRAM chainring and the stock chain would have not required an increase in the chainlength.

The G4 Bicycle , Potential MBB/Cruzbike Diversification Candidate?

@Opik , the only way to tell the difference between the two designs is to build and test with an open mind. That requires someone with the build skills , tools , time, analyical mind and curiosity. Someone like @markciccio . Marco has extensive experince in MBB and can easily test this design...

The G4 Bicycle , Potential MBB/Cruzbike Diversification Candidate?

Yeah, one will need to undo four clamp bolts. How does that compare to through axles though? QR skewers were always the least difficult I guess. Probably unknown to Ron Thompson, that frontend design is very similar to what was already in existence built by Trivek. Or Trivek was unaware that...

The G4 Bicycle , Potential MBB/Cruzbike Diversification Candidate?

Thank you very much @CoolBreeze . Much appreciated. I always try to keep an open mind to any good ideas, becuase somewhere in the multitude and diversity of ideas there is wisdom. This is how improvements come, by thinking out of the box. Every bike design has pros and cons, but the recumbent...

The G4 Bicycle , Potential MBB/Cruzbike Diversification Candidate?

The grip may be just an instance of motion captured by the picture (I think he was accelerating) but looking at the brief videos it doesn't appear any different from the ordinary MBB though. The engineering is pretty facinating though. It appears like the hands have a greater leverage than the...

The G4 Bicycle , Potential MBB/Cruzbike Diversification Candidate?

Good points for discussion. With a partial fairing over the cassette and derailuer it can be a pretty clean frontend without a flop.

The G4 Bicycle , Potential MBB/Cruzbike Diversification Candidate?

I was watching the laidback bike report by Gary Solomon and they were discussing an interesting MBB style bicycle designed by Ron Thompson similar to the one formally built by the French, Kervelo, but this time using dual chain drive instead of a pinion drive. It can make a good mid/low racer...

READ: Chainstay Clamps PSA and PRO Tip

Thanks Robert. Maybe in the future there should be : a set of four spring washers included (one for each bolt) between the clamps and the chainstay to limit the minimum gap possible. A torque setting printed on the clamps for those who have a torque wrench to refer to.

    New build: S40 2020

Hi Kendrick, If I'am not mistaken, I think your silvio was the first ever cruzbike I ever set my eyes on via youtube, about 10 years ago! John T. was explaining about the design somewhere in Perth , birds chirping and all. I must have watched that video a thousand times! Absolute nostalgia! :):)

CruzBike Cameo! - My First YouTube Video

Very intertaining and a good story! It's hard work getting all those shots and harder still to edit but great job! I subscribed. Looking forward to more.

Yes, it is! (was: Or maybe not (was: My Vendetta is a survivor (was: My Vendetta V1.0 is dying)))

I once saw a Silvio 2.0 with a Vendetta front triangle in this forum. I wonder whether a current generation fork , BB and boom from an S40 or v20 can be fitted to the old Vendetta 1.0 main frame? If that is possible then you will only need a new black front triangle.

    Cruzbike S40 in Nairobi, Kenya!

Oh, I now understand. I was trying to compare my DF position to a recumbent postion relative to the pedals.

    Cruzbike S40 in Nairobi, Kenya!

Thanks. Yes, I had watched that video. I will consider those one of these days. I actually have an old pair of Welgo road pedals that appear like look pedals. But due to some hotfoot issues I chose a wider bigger shoe which happened to be spd.
