    Power meter for Vendetta

Bob, nice "present" for Mrs. Rats. I've been watching her workouts and her progression through the winter. Her progress is nothing short of incredible. That recent set of power intervals - almost hitting 300 watts, and pushing her HR to 175! wow. All I can say - now that she's going to have a...

    Power meter for Vendetta

I am currently doing some power meter testing now. I think my Q-rings are making my Garmin power readings low. I keep re-calibrating everything for every ride, and I am seeing up to 20% lower readings. It is really frustrating. Does anyone else have a KICKR trainer (or other power trainer)...

    Down Hill Form

Here's my latest attempt at speed and downhill form "practice" (Strava said I hit 52mph, but Garmin VIRB only had me at 50), although my downhill form is nothing compared to Bob's. (No one-handed riding here either) I also pretty much had the death grip due to heavy gusts and cross-winds making...

    Who wants a half-bike?

it's like the circle of life - or - what is old is new again. I guess that's why my wife has all these 20-30 year old clothing in her closet - eventually they will be back in style. Me - Blue jeans and tees shirts just never go out of style! ;)

    Shine on you crazy diamond

Not sure, but I don't think anyone has mentioned the "theory" of drivers appearing to fixate on objects and lights they are coming towards and actually unconsciously steering towards them. Could me an urban myth, but I sure have seen a bunch of video of HP guys stopped on the side of the road...

    My Journey Begins...

Jim, This is quite a long thread and this may have been addressed, but if you can afford it, I would suggest purchasing a nice indoor trainer. I work 50 hours a week and in the late fall, winter, and even early spring there just isn't enough daylight or warm enough weather for me to ride...

    Shine on you crazy diamond

All this light stuff is really cool! But since my one bike accident at Sebring in the middle of the night, I just don't like riding in the dark much - things just seem to come up on me so fast in the dark.. So, if it's dark I want to ride; I just stick my V on the KICKR and go. :) So...

Funny - I did see this.. it was at ..... wait a minute - it's coming - Wal-Mart - airport road - right?! I know it has nothing to do with cycling or Cruzbikes - but a little funny, and a little creepy at the same time! Hey - Gary - can you pick me up a 1/2 gallon of lactose free whole milk and...

Ride with GPS Releases Offline Maps for iPhone and Android

I just subscribed today (another monthly fee ) and make a little test route and tried it in my car. Very nice. I have already loaded the Calvin's 50 and 7 miles loops as routes into my RWGPS data. I had read reports from last year's Calvin's that many people got lost on the route. We'll...

    Weight?

Mine was 30 lbs wet! (sorry couldn't resist. That is when your ride thunderstorms and the frame fills up with water!)

I feel like the groundhog who saw his shadow

It is definitely do-able. I've ridden behind Jim Parker as he road rather effortlessly without hands, even with themgetherlaced to back behind his head! Pretty amazing. Jim - good place for you to insert a video of your magic!

Thanks Bob - but this guy is the true freak: http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/astana-coach-reveals-training-methods-for-nibali-and-aru-ahead-of-classics-and-giro-ditalia Quote from article: Fabio has an extra 5-10 watts at threshold, that means he's at about 395-400 watts with a weight of...
