What I did to prepare for Sebring 2017 ---today

Good point about the rain in the face in the more reclined position of the V and S30. For those with experience with that, how much of a "problem" is it or how does it actually affect you?

    Radical bike rack

Yup, I'm in your exact situation Jim only I had to quit because of NAFTA back in 1992 - couldn't find another flying job in Louisiana, didn't want to leave Louisiana so found a better paying manufacturing job ...

Seat circumference for the new Silvio S30

53cm ... thanks sooo much for braving the cold and getting the measurement Alexis! You needn't go out "... to take a better measurement ...". This should be good enough for what Radical Design needs.

Seat circumference for the new Silvio S30

Thanks Alexis. Yes, from the top center down 20cm, then measure around and "straight across" the back.

Seat circumference for the new Silvio S30

Hi y'all, I've been in touch with Radical Design about their rear seat bags for the S30. They need to know the circumference of the seat (I'm assuming without the cushion) 20cm/7.87 inches down from the top of the seat. Can anyone with a new S30 please measure and share that info. Thanks in...

    Sebring 2017 newbie

Wow! Thanks Ratz, for taking the time to explain all that - wasn't expecting that. It will probably take me at least a couple of reads to fully understand it all :-). I know from experience that a formal training program helps. In the past ten years I've run three marathons. The first two, I...

    Sebring 2017 newbie

Ratz, About your Sebring training plan, can you explain what TSS and IF stand for? Does the "8 min test" have a significant meaning? I've done the Texas Time Trials a few times and some other long rides but have never done any "formal" training - this is all new to me. I'm seriously considering...

    Amateur Aerodynamics for Silvio

Would cutting holes ... Would cutting x number of holes, say 1 or 2 inch diameter, in the disc cover in the gaps between the spokes, allow the wheel to be streamlined yet still allow enough "air" thru to offset any crosswind, or at least make it manageable?

    Amateur Aerodynamics for Silvio

Thanks Jim Gerwing Thanks Jim. It's probably not worth the potential disaster for the small gain in performance.

    Amateur Aerodynamics for Silvio

Crosswind effect? Anyone have an idea as to how much a crosswind would affect the handling? I'm doing 500 mile RAAM qualifier next month and would love to try these covers. However, if there is a stiff crosswind ...

Front deraileur on Silvio won't stay "adjusted"

Having hard time getting "once" This is a continuation from this thread: http://cruzbike.com/help-silvio-riders.#comment-18276 , which I'd inadvertently hijacked. So, the local bike shop put on new FD cable housing, using a teflon coated housing around the bottom bracket. Last...

    Help from Silvio riders.

Didn't mean to hijack thread I didn't mean to "hijack" your thread (this thread) Peder, which is suppose to be about helping you find reasons to buy/switch to a Cruzbike for an aquiantance of yours. For any further discussions about the problems with my bike, let's go here...

    Help from Silvio riders.

Hard time getting that "once" Thanks Jack, I'm envious that you "haven't had to touch anything for a long time". I'll have to check with John and Doug as to how to proceed with mine because I'm at a total loss as to what I should do next. Enjoy your ride :-)! Ted

    Help from Silvio riders.

Hard time getting that "once" Haven't moved the boom/handlebar setup since the final setup and test ride back in June so don't believe that is the cause of my problems ... but who knows for sure ...

    Help from Silvio riders.

Hard time getting that "once" Hi Jack, you've apparently got your Silvio set up perfectly. What deraileurs are you running? I've got the Shimano Ultegra triple on mine and am having a dickens of a time trying to get it to work properly on a consistent basis. Did you set it up yourself or have...

    Di2 on my Silvio

Also meant to ask ... Also meant to ask ... I'm assuming those two red cylinders at the top of the boom are your headlights? Never seen anything quite like those. What can you tell us about them? Make? Model? What's been your experience with them? You must like them or they wouldn't be on...

    Di2 on my Silvio

+3 Request for Pics Ean, Would be great to see some pictures, including where/how you mounted the battery. Though you "just put it on", have you had a chance to get some idea as to the actual time between battery charges and/or miles/km between charges? It is my understanding...

Befitting of a Silvio: Shimano Di2

Without a doubt! Without a doubt, y'all definitely "... have great bicycle frame designs." John, as well as making the bike meet the road bike standards :-)! Guess I really "knew" the answer to my own question ... just had to "voice it" out loud, so to speak ... I'm really...

Befitting of a Silvio: Shimano Di2

Shimano Di2 = Exciting :-)! After reading this thread, I checked out the Shimano Di2 - my ol' heart started thumping - this is EXCITING :-)! How about it John [Tolhurst], any plans to adept it to the Vendetta and/or Silvio? Or is it something each individual would be on their own to...
