Jesse just told me that he turned 35 this July.
It's good to see more younger folks riding recumbents!

I think at 30-31 years of age I may still be the youngest recumbent racer? Yes I'm not sure if I turn 31 or 32 next month, I've never been one to remember my exact age.

Would Jason's big hill descent be a cheaper alternative to a wind tunnel?

There are so many variables that are out of your control when you are outside like that.
Just a car passing you in either direction on one attempt could skew the data.
I do a lot of testing on a closed track and have had very good results which I think has let me hone my Vendetta (and I) into a very aerodynamic machine
Still - nothing is going to beat a wind tunnel when pretty much everything is controlled. Just big bucks!

I'm twice his age and have his size - or - Just an "old" "gnome" riding a fast Cruzbike.
Yes, the reports of my "age", and "size" continue to grow into a tribal urban legend! haha (Thanks BentAreo!)

In September we'll have at least 2 < 40; when Pluckyblond rides Iowa; for my health I won't mention the exact age; other than to mention she kept getting mad every time a female olympian in her mid thirties was described as an OLD athlete by the media coverage

But for the youngest on any recumbent; that probably goes to the Florian Kids; with their BattleMountain records; and Robert H's daughter who's done at least some track stuff on a Quest.

There is Charlie Ollinger - who I am pretty sure has been racing recumbents since he was about 6.
He is very strong and powerful.
I think he is in the 30 year old age group as well, but not sure he is really racing right now.
He used to race for Cruzbike 2 years ago when I started and has won many events, but has taken a break I think.
If you visit and ride with the HPVA crowd in the mid-west, there are also some pretty fast "youngsters" - Florian Kowalik, aged 17 is pretty fast in the sprints too.
But - to your credit Jason, I think you are probably the youngest and the fastest out there, and I just love the way you are punishing those uprights in those mountain races.
Really looking forward to when we can ride in an event together (either at Worlds, or Sebring). I know I won't be able to keep up with you - but at least I won't be an embarrassment to you either!
Keep it up and please be safe on those high speed descents! (I was going to find a hill and try and best your fastest speed, but after this latest slide going about 40, I think I've lost my nerve, as I just don't know if I want to go 65+)

Yeah I forgot about HPVA races out there and the huge involvement from the young peeps in it. I also did recall Roberts Daughter riding a CruzBike but didn't know she did any events. I guess I'm over the hill and on my way out then :lol.

I'd much prefer you keep it safe and on two wheels over trying to break to many more state speed limits.

I've raced with Larry in person. I can testify that he is 105 years old, under three feet tall, and is not allowed on any roller coasters for both reasons - hence the purposeful crashing to get his adrenaline "fix". He also rides blindfolded and steers by sonar and smell alone.

There is never just one hill... Think of it as rollers. You're over the second hill.
Me, Im 63, over the third hill, and they just keep getting steeper
