A stoppie on a recumbent!!!

His wheel comes back down really gently. I think that takes perfect timing and pressure on the front brake.

I have seen a picture of a HPVelotechnik Street Machine doing it. That is USS.

I've done it accidentally on a 20/26 SWB and on my Q45, but I usually just want to get the back wheel back on the ground. Never thought about trying to sustain it.

That's how I know it was faked. I can buy the sustained wheelie, but not the gentle landing.

And how can one fake it? CGI? Magic? :)
He used brakes to slow down his 'fall' - the frame has to rotate in relation to the wheel, so braking hard can slow it down or stop entirely. You can even maintain it indefinetely, provided you don't fall to the side :).

I've done that for a couple feet, by accident/necessity a few times. Soft landing is normal. Note that the landing is not really super-soft in the video either. He is bouncing a bit.
