B2B Cruzbike tandem from two T50s

Yesterday I put up a Youtube video with this description:
We call it the "push-me-pull-you", made by friends of ours who like to make stuff. We donated two T50s and got this back on loan. It's quite fun to ride. Maria loves the clear view to the rear, looking straight into the eyes of overtaking cars. It is definitely more stable and easier to ride with the heavier person in the front. We find it is a wonderful place for great conversations. Our heads are very close together, so it is easy to talk intimately.

We don't plan to manufacture this, but just sharing it here. Here is the video from yesterday.

I am planning a MBB longtail cargo bike. I plan on having a seat option for a pessenger. I thought about having a crank for them as well, but it seemed to be hard to integrate well. B2B is worth another thought.

Awesome! I bet it would be really fast with both of you giving it the beans.

A long tail MBB sounds pretty nice. I've always liked the idea of a tandem recumbent.

Looks like a hubgear (Shimano Alfine or so)? And of course the chain had to be on the left (viewed from the backseat rider) as you would otherwise have a problem with freewheeling. Nice bit of improvisation engineering.

Hope it will get a place in the Cruzeum at some point :)

Boreen, I didn't even take a close look at it until today. I just assumed the chain was crossed when this thread first appeared. It is a neat solution though.
