Wow, you are very fortunate not to have been seriously injured! That is definitely a catastrophic failure.
I went out for a quick mid-day, 12mi test ride. Having not experienced tubeless tires before, I did not want to venture too far. Both the wheels and tires performed exceptionally well. I was not expecting much of a difference between 25mm tubular and 28mm tubeless tires, but it was quite noticeable. Smoother ride, maybe slightly faster, and just slightly more road (rolling) noise. I am rethinking the idea of placing tubes in the HED wheels once they arrive. Tubeless may be the future. 28c seems to be the sweet-spot; however, I an think about giving either a 30 or 32 a try.
