Is a 2000mm brake hose long enough for the S40?

I'm planning a build on a new frameset and I have bought a used 1x road SRAM Force HRD brakeset (levers and calipers).

I know that the current fitted rear brake hose is not long enough as it's been cut short. I also know I can buy a full kit of 2000mm hose including a pre-crimped banjo for the lever end.

The question is, will 2000mm be long enough? I'm 5'7" with a 40" X-seam, so the slider and bar position will not be extreme.

I searched on the forum but didn't find a definitive answer, so thank you for any help on this!

Thanks for the reply but I don't have the frame yet. I'm just preparing parts for its arrival in a few weeks and want to know if I should buy a two metre hose kit.

If it's not long enough I'm looking at a more complex solution.

@RossK , I have a 2019 Cruzbike S40 and I use the stock SRAM Apex mechanical brake levers that came with the bike. I recently replaced the brake cable and the rear (back) wheel needed a 2000mm brake cable and it barely fit. I had shortened the brake housing by approx. 30mm or thereabouts. So, I'd say, to be really safe, get a 2100mm -2500mm cable. They are available for disc brakes intended for gravel bikes and tandems .

Thank you for the information, I appreciate it!

I'll just wait to get the frame here in Scotland and use a bit of trimmer line to measure before ordering parts!

I'm 5'8" and my S40 hose is 2000mm. I thought it was and just measured to check. You will probably use all of it but it should be fine.
I had a bit of fun routing mine. I used an inner sleeve from one of those Nokon type segmented cables, then ran a cable back through that, removed the sleeve and my brake hose slid down over the brake cable which I then removed obviously. Hopefully someone laughs at this and tells you there is actually a very easy way to do it.

Ah, that's great, thank you, I really appreciate your message! If I'd had to buy a bespoke long hose I would have to obtain and fit a banjo for the lever end and from what I've heard it can be tricky to source here in the UK the non-SRAM hose which is the identical sizing to SRAM hose, sometimes they don't quite fit properly.

In other words if I can buy an OEM SRAM ready to fit 2m hose, it avoids a potential world of pain!
