If you hit the " news" arrow should get you there, I googled titanium recumbent and a the picture I posted appeared.

Have to agree , but to be fair I've seen Silvio rear carbon and titanium suspension on Chinese frame sets many years ago. It would be interesting to know cost .

I also have to agree. The LBS and the supermarket and Alibaba will be selling them in the summer. We will be riding past people in the park, and they will be saying "look, one of those Chinese bikes. Oh no, my mistake, it's an Australian copy."

Nice work.
As far as I know, my Cruzbike frames were manufactured in Taiwan and, probably yours were too.

All there frames are titanium copies of other frames, it looks like.

The carbon suspension on the Silvios was indeed of Chines or Taiwanese origin. In fact, someone bought a folding frame from the manufacturer for a travel Cruzbike. They were selling on Ebay for a while.

The Silvio V1.0(2007) and Softrider were built in a Taiwan bike factory, Speedone, that ALSO built Carbon fibre + titanium rear suspension folding bikes that came out in 2007, and small run bike manufacture!

I THINK that Cruzbike changed their bike manufacturer in 2013/2014?, so from there on, needed to pay for the front and rear suspension units and royalties to Speedone, at a higher?? price than before.
I think that is part of why the suspension has been removed from most Cruzbikes, and replaced with wider tyres.

As light as it seems , it does look chunky. I don't think it's as aero.

Chainstay is too short; but it shows it can be done. Long though Ti would be lighter and more compliant.

For reducing the bike weight, I think construction with carbon fiber is the way to go, like Marco Ruga's La Rev.

Cruzbike would have to use Marco's friend's racing-car process to do it. Would that be more expensive than the Taiwanese factory?
