And a clarification if you don’t mind.
What size tire and which fork (the v1, v2, or v3 S40 fork) are you referring to with this statement?
Probably he is refering to the 700x30c tires that were included stock with the 2019 S40 complete option.

By the way, these colors are truly lovely!

I'am guessing the next one is .... luminous white?

Hard to choose a favourite.

Electric Blue? Throw me in the "Icehouse". I want the gloss green S40, but I don't need six bikes...

send me your frame sets and tell me what you want. fade job? pinstripe? zebra stripes? flames? maybe a few LED's? i need a retirement gig.

Hmm. Seeing these new colors almost makes me want to have my original S40 repainted ;) Somehow, I think I may be able to ‘suffer’ with the current color ;)

I could do a mini flame thrower. Remote tank, hand pressure pump, Coleman fuel, snap spark. Tough part would be controlling In the slipstream and getting a good looking flame. Conventional flame throwers rely on the liquid to make the fire pretty. Really hard to do with any aerosol type valving. Blow torching May be really hot, but isn’t as visually impressive.

Years ago I had a Chevy hot rod with a spark plug flame rig on the exhaust. Simple. Fun.

Shame about the fork height, I was looking to an S40 as my next/second cruzbike but this is unexpected. It did look strange to me on the pictures from social media, but wasn't sure if the picture was made with the stock tire.
I want to keep some speed with the 700c wheels but my back also wants some comfort (some shitty roads around me). The ability to mount bigger tires on the S40 was one of the factors it appealed to me, but now I'm not so sure.
650b could fit, yes, but I already have a Q45 which I could also convert to 650b, so giving the S40 650b wheels isn't appealing to me.

@Robert Holler
1. What is the main reason for the crown change?
2. Will the fork still be rigid enough if the bottom of the crown (the part nearest to the tire) would be trimmed a bit (in a warranty-breaking type of way), or is the fork treated in some way after welding so modifying it isn't recommended? I mean some light massaging with a file.
3. Will a 36mm wide front tire fit? I tried some 700c 36mm wide Michelins from a friend which are pumped to 4.5bar, they are fairly comfy for anything, let alone a 700c! Something like that, or 700c 35m Schwalbe Kojak. I was hoping to go in that direction with my build, if I decide to bite the bullet.
To put it in a different way, what is the max height of the tire? I know this will vary a bit depending on the mounting on the rim/pressure, but what is the height of the stock Kenda tires? For example, the Schwalbe Kojak 35mm wide is 31mm tall on 60psi pressure.

Well, that is the info I also found here on the forum on more occasions which was my motivation to get an S40, but not sure if this applies to the 2020 S40. It would be great if someone at cruzbike would just try this out (a wider then stock tire) so we can be somewhat sure what fits.

I thought the S40 could take 700*38 front, and 700*40 rear!!
Both with disc brake wheels!

This is true for the 2019. There is a slight fork crown change on the 2020 that reduces the clearance a bit there for a 30c or 32c (depending on rims/tire brand) for the front fork. This change however possibly allows for a caliper brake to be used (haven't tried that) and this is the best handling S40 frame so far.

For sizes soaring over 32c - I recommend going to a 650b wheel anyway, as then you can maintain a similar rolling diameter of a more commonly sized 700c wheel/tire combo.

Plus, with 650b wheels and 40mm tires the bike is a fast cushy beast without being too much overkill like the massive 700c tires.

650B This is what I did on the T50's and we got 42 Marathon's to fit

Ok, so the general consensus is - 650B or gtfo if I want a softer ride :)
That's ok, just need both wheelsets to have same hubs so swapping over the disc & aligning it will not be an issue. Always hated the setups where I have two wheelsets, it never is just a matter of just swapping the wheels :)

@ratz
Those wheels looks mad! What brand/model are they?
