I recently purchased a rack from https://quikrstuff.com/.

I'd just like to say that I love it. It carries all of my Cruzbikes simply and securely. It IS expensive but you get what you pay for they say. It is completely modular and has very well thought out accessories. It is super easy to install and remove and just as easy getting the bike(s) on and off the rack. They even have an accessory ramp for heavy ebikes. If you're looking for a good rack. Check them out. I receive no kick back from the company...I just wanted to share my experience with the tribe!

Thanks for the pic. I have a similar Thule Helium XT rack. It does not secure the front wheel due to the chainstay obstruction. The difference I see is that you have the ability to adjust the height of the wheel retainer.

Correct! It can handle kids bikes too. Very adjustable!

This looks quite similar to the 1Up racks. For mine I ended up trimming one arm to fit the chainstay. The Vendetta is held securely but when I took it on a multi state trip movement caused significant abrasions on the tires, especially the front. I plan to make some wheel cups using heat-moldable plastic.

When I got my V20c on Labor Day weekend, I already had a Swagman XC2 hitch rack for my smallish Nissan Juke. I have the better wheel holders for the Swagman rack (they are extra). It works great with my CA2 where the hook part goes over the frame tube. It is inexpensive, quick and easy.

For my trike I remove one wheel holder and reverse the other wheel holder to face rear instead of the car. That lines it up with the rear tadpole trike wheel. With a hex wrench I secure a cross rail that has two of the wheel holders that came with the rack. I don't need the hook for the trike and I just fold the hook bar down to the side out of the way. This setup is also inexpensive, quick and easy.

When it came to the Cruzbike, I just placed some of the padding from the Cruzike box over the seat and used bungee cords to secure with the hook. Not elegant, but it works.

Not bad, looks like it works. I am still in learning mode with an S40 and considering the need for a rack.
Something like could be the answer.

Thanks for the info. I have a Rav4 and can get it inside but.... pain in the xxx. Once I learn to ride straighter, work in progress, I can see a need occasionally for a bike rack. I can log short miles where I live but it would be nice to get in better areas and with good bike trails which are not available to me.

One more mention. There is a good inexpensive (quick to use) plastic ratchet strap (I have three) that I use to when putting my trike on the rack. Can use for extra strap or a broken one. It is from Saris and they also make bike hitches.

Merry Christmas btw and thanks for including this bit of information. I was wondering about strapping that I thought I seen with one of the bike racks. I can see how they might need replacing occasionally based on weather and how rough roads are. I need to have a receiver installed on my car before I get too far.

Merry Christmas. I have had two smaller hitches (1 1/4) installed on 2 vehicles. I bought one from the auto dealer that sold the vehicle and they installed it. About eight years ago at U-Haul, I bought just a hitch and had it installed at U-Haul. I just now looked up the pricing at U-Haul for my Juke and it is $184.95 + $5 warranty (if you want lifetime warrany) + $50 installation + tax. U-haul also lists the Swagman XTC2 rack with the better wheel holders (more narrow for road bicycles tires) for 2 bicycles at $299 (+ tax). Keep in mind your costs will vary depending on vehicle and location. The same Swagman XTC2 rack lists for less on the Swagman site at $175 (+ tax). There may be some other charges (or savings) that I missed. But this should give you an idea of low cost options.

I recommend shopping around for the rack that you like and make sure the size works for the hitch that works with your vehicle. If you don't mind crawling under your vehicle you may be able to install the hitch yourself. For me it was worth it to have it installed by people who had the knowledge and experience.

Another nice thing about the QuikrStuff rack is that it is modular. You can add more bike trays as needed and they're removeable, compact, and storable when not needed.

How well does the front wheel lever hold the tire. I'm looking at similar racks for my S40, and with my chain stay looking like it's @ 45*, I'm perplexed as to how this type of rack would work? (Also, WOW! are the QUIKr racks expensive!)

If you check out their website they have multiple video and pics showing all size bikes installed. The rack arms adjust up and down to fit the wheels so you can position them easily to clear the chain stay.

Oh I did not read that your S40 is not secured in the front, concerned me. Looks just like my S40, still learning to ride in a straight line here as I am new to CB's.

@aldousjim - I'm not sure I follow your comment, but I'm a newbie myself, also still trying to ride in a straight line and make 180* turns. I'm hoping to do my first ride over 5 miles tomorrow.

Getting miles in will help your riding confidence. I finally got over a 12 mile ride in last week, weather permitted. Starts at intersections is still my biggest concern but staying straight in these small emergency lanes to avoid cars is definitely a concern still. My areas just doesn't have any riding trails just short bike lanes that are start up and stop with not much rhyme or reason. Best of riding luck and comfort!
