What do you not like about the Ventsit? Considering one
I found the Ventisit indispensable particularly for ventilation in the warmer climate but also more comfortable IIRC (it's been a while since I have used the stock padding). I do a lot of commuting which requires lots of scooting. This does lead to eventual holes in cheap shorts and some weirdness (I wouldn't call it discomfort).

Umm, no problems with Ventisit or related chafing or the tightness of its hold (grin). Have yet to have shorts wear out but see no evidence of same after 3,000+ miles this season.

The M5 pad works well. Cut to fit your seat and use a hole punch to make drain holes. It is hotter than my ventisit pad, though.
