They stole my Silvio

My Silvio had a carbon seat. I think the S40 is a slightly different shape. This bike seems to have better acceleration than the last one. Is it because of the seat? I have 650b. Does that make a difference? It is only slightly smaller than 700c. I have 130mm cranks. I had 140mms before. Is that it? Is it all of the above? The S40 definitely feels more lively than the Silvio.

If I had known what the S40 would be like I would have been thinking of selling the Silvio. I hope I never get the opportunity to ride a Vendetta.

I have suddenly realised the answer to my own question. Obvious. S40 has no Kind shock and the carbon stays are now aluminium. Stiffer than the old one.

yes cruzbike nailed it. I find the stiffness advantage with a bladder head a world beater on my vendetta. If I could I would have an s40 but divorce is unpalatable.

What ever it is that you are doing is working braddah. I'd be the first buyer if you wrote a book on it.

The Story of Oz and Gayle... sounds pleasantly like a fairy tale on wheels hahaha.

The Kind shock and the rubber thingy at the back both had really tiny travel, and the shock suffered from sticktion. For small bumps it did not deflect at all. I think my tyres have as much travel as the shock did, and tyres react to tiny bumps. To those who wish they had a Kind shock I will recommend big tyres without a lot of air in them. After all, fitting them is so much fun.

When I bought the S40 frame I forgot two optional extras. The headrest and the luggage rack. I discovered that the headrest would have been a waste of money. The stock headrest is nowhere near my head, but I do not need a headrest. No discomfort. No feeling that my head is about to fall off backwards. The seat must be a different shape.

The rack I did need, so I got the underseat one. I thought the one above the back I wheel might effect the steering. I like how this bike feels. I do not want to mess it up. I got Restrap bags, like the ones on the Silvio.

Well done Cruzbike for bowing to popular demand and noticing that everybody on a Silvio was trying to carry stuff.

I could not use the headrest on my S40 either. What I did is turned my suspension adjustable headrest up side down. This made the length of the flat piece longer and I am now able to use it. I had to put the clamp up higher towards the bend of the double bars.
