Hi John,
My short answer: "Don't know! Haven't got the faintest idea."
I do know Specialized have some pretty "trick" frames for their off-road machines, and I know they were/are light and compact and EXPENSIVE, particularly if one wants to buy a new one! I inquired, about 3 years back, about a similar frame from one of the local Specialized dealers here in Brizvagus, and got the drum that sometimes a frame or complete bike, that was a season old, might come up for sale. But even these were prohibitively expensive. They are supposed to be good, tough and light, and with their original drive train, put power to ground effectively.
Specialized used to, and probably still do have, some fancy animations on their website explaining why their frames and suspension systems are so good. Not being really interested in off-road capabilities, I didn't take much notice.
Still I'd like to know if this is the frame, or a similar one, to the one that Dave "docem" is hoping to convert.
Regards,
John R.
