Thanks John for your help.

Thanks John for your help.
It sounds like either the Vendetta or the Silvio will be able fit me. I am verry impressed with your bikes and I'm sure what ever choice I make I'll be more than satisfied.

Performance - did you gain a modicum?

So what are your conclusions? Have you gained some modicum of performance with the HF model?

Disc brakes - are there any

Disc brakes - are there any road wheels with these yet? Seem to be a few cyclocrossers, guess they are heavier ? I certainly love the discs on a moutain bike, will they be just as essential on a roadie I wonder.

And Di2 does sound good, but they only do 2 chainrings - fair enough if they are aimed for 'serious' riders - but I need my granny !

Pleased that there are large sizes - much as I like my Silvio, I don't think I fit it very well, think I need to trade up.

Velocity disc wheelsets

I am considering one of these sets at some point:

My Vendetta order is for SRAM Rival plus the Cruzbike wheels so I'm going to start with that but I've been thinking of also getting a Silvio. If I do, I may move these wheels and groupset over to the Silvio and re-do the Vendetta with discs and perhaps a bullhorn bar.

Just what-ifs at the moment, we'll see what the future holds...

John Tolhurst a celebrity?

"?I want the first newly redesigned Silvio in lemon yellow with your signature!! Sign and then clear coat over it!!!"

You gotta admire the enthusiasm :)

I think that the signature would be a nice touch. Many of the great master frame builders "sign" their frames as to many of the frame painters...Joe Bell always comes to mind for that. Speaking of, Bean, if you can't get a factory Silvio in the colour you want, there are plenty of shops who will undertake the task. I have even refinished a handful of frames with professional results.

Personally, I like the Silvio in black. But nearly fell in love with the only white one I ever saw and rode, which is only but a couple hours from me.
