And right after I posted that I realized that when you click on the Mobile Apps "Find on Strava" it lists the Zwift user names of the Strava users you follow. doh! All the people I follow seem to use different names, so I was trying to type in their Strava name and it was returning not found.

All is well now, and even figured out who trplay is.

On the app you can go into the search for friends area and find all the riders you are currently following and then by clicking on the star you can favorite them as well. By adding someone to your favorites the app will send you a notification of when that person starts a zwift ride. I don't honestly see much use in the favorites feature other then reminding you of an opportunity to give that person a ride on from your app. Now when you go to start a zwift ride if any of the people you follow are already riding they will be listed in orange right at the top of the selection of people you can choose to ride with. Just make sure your already pedaling when you click their name or else you'll get dropped instantly.

Great to see the Zwifters here on Cruz. Umm, with the new search for friends within Zwift app, this becomes pretty easy IF one knows each other's Zwift name. OR, if I read the thread correctly, one goes to Strava, correct? For what its worth, my Zwift name is J. Ritter.

start by adding yourself to the strava group here https://www.strava.com/clubs/recumbent-zwift . This will allow us quick filtering of who's who. On strava I'm Jason Perez but on Zwift I appear as ..Bwahaha. I'm not sure what my name shows up as when people search me in the app, maybe someone else here could chime in and let me know what I appear as in the app so I can more easily lead people the right way.

Clearly he was jogging :( But I've moved up from bottom of the D pack to a solid middle packer. Thanks for the thumbs up during the climb!

Looks like a lonely finish with over a min in front and behind. Are you getting to mix it up with some kind of group before it breaks apart?

Who is Susan Richter? She gives me a ride on on just about every zwift ride I do but I don't recognize her last name, anyone we know on here?

A secret admirer no doubt! She must just like the way you look in those Tron rims as you pass by her at high speed. ;)

So I'm thinking of joining this ride/event. I like finding random people on zwift who are riding my pace and riding with them but it's usually short lived because of routing options and most people don't like climbing. Since I can't get Larry to join me for another Rojo epic for fear that Ratz may castrate him for exceeding his TSS by who know how much again I think this ride will contain my kind of riders. I don't have the highest of opinion of these zwift "ride with this pro" group rides as it kind of feels like people stroking each others egos. I guess that could just be because I don't view people beyond my current limits as admirable in the same way a fan would. This event seems a bit different than most since it's more like a "Pro rider going for a solid spin, your welcome to hang on if you can" type of ride which should be a much smaller group after the first climb. If anyone hear wan't to weight dope to keep up and won't call you out ;)

Sorry Jason - I am continually reminded that I signed up for RAAM with 3 other people that are counting on me to peak at the right time with them.
Ratz for one has spent considerable time on a detailed training plan for us, and I want to honor his efforts and not screw it up!

Hah as you un-official backup I have a vested interested in you not getting injured or burned out before the race.

@trplay are you using the IOS app to run zwift? I only ask because I use the Windows PC version and ending races and events was so easy to figure out and the game has been totally glitchless minus my buggy wifi connection which isn't zwifts fault. I feel 90% of the reported issues on the face book page are from IOS users these days. It does take a little time to figure out where the info you want to look up is located since everything is divided between the Zwift website, In game, the zwift mobile app(not the game app) and the zwift power website. Zwift need to get everything all in one place on their website with there mobile app having some of the stuff.

No, all my apple stuff is too old to run the apps. Trying to figure out why they wouldn't work was one of my early issues/ frustrations. Then buying a new tablet (android) for the specific purpose to mirror to the tv was a non-starter. Now I'm just on a long umbilical cord from TV to laptop which I can't reach while riding. The best thing I have done is to use one of those industrial fans for drying carpet, etc. Low profile with tons of air directed in a precise location. I don't own a mobile phone.

:lol look @ratz we have someone using a carpet drying tornado fan like we were talking about. Yes carpet drying fans are the bomb.

Found a group ride that even I couldn't hang onto. Only made it 2.2 times up the Watopia Mt. before I called it quits. We rode the flats between 3.5-4.0wkg but it was the holding 4.5wkg for pretty much the whole climb that started to bury me. The 1 hour session of over FTP intervals this morning probably didn't do me any favors but climbing the whole watopia mountain at FTP 3 times in a row would have been hard regardless. Very glad I gave it a shot, it showed me that are even group riders out for someone like me.

Of the 100 that started I'd say only 60 held on to the end of the first lap. We stopped at the KOM arch the second lap for a 4 min potty break but the sudden power back up the tower climb and the fast DH trimmed off another 20 or so riders. By the time we started the third climb up Mt. Watopia there was less than 30 riders and we were loosing another one by the minute. I'd estimate less than 10 riders finished with the leader by the end but that's what you'd expect from a non no drop ride. It reminded me on my lunch rides except 3 times longer.

We need to start our zwift club weekly ride even if it's just the two of us. Should we go weekday evening or early weekend? Once it's established more people will jump in little by little and once we have enough people we can consider moving the time or day around to accommodate more people.

So you want to do a race instead of just a meet and ride a lap or two? Not much talking going on during a race if your actually racing if you know what I mean.

Doing some casual group rides with Discord is probably a good start before trying any races. I've mostly been riding the TT bike (extra XP instead of power ups as I was working to level 10) and don't fully understand the drafting effects -- are you only in the draft if immediately behind someone within 1m, can you overlap wheels, etc.

My kids have Scouts on Wednesdays that I take them to, but otherwise I'm good for any weekday afternoon/evening from ~4pm Pacific and on.

I did a rainy Nor Cal ride this afternoon, and after 14 days in the garage on Zwift, maybe I'm not that tired of it after all.

After Sebring my longer weekend rides are good candidates for group ride over laps. Until then I have to finish fixing my fitness. So count me in mid February.

0-4meters gets you a drafting effect. The easier way to know if you are in the draft is if your avatar sits up in the relaxed position. The only bike that the sitting up rule doesn't apply to is the TRON bike since there is no sitting up animation for that bike, so you get the draft but stay in the tuck. If your using the TT bike you will never get a draft but people can draft you. If your using the TT bike for the extra 10 points experience every power up arch take note you'll only ever get a +10 and never the +250 on the TT bike. I've gotten the +250 3 times so far that I've noticed.
