we use dicord in the sim racing world.. 20 prople all online all able to converse. can split of into subgroups for team strategy talks etc. simple to use. access was via website registration for us....

Yes still the same deal with the website but as a first time user the layout is a bit confusing. So question, I'm sure you had a regular group of sim race buddies. Once someone joined the group they could just jump back in another day without needing an invite again right? Also do I even need to send out personal invites or can the people here just search the groups name?

Been a while since I used discord but Servers are permanent.

So here's a link to a Cruzbike Tribe Server that will never expire.
https://discord.gg/TWdVthg

Pretty Simple:
1) Create a user
2) Click the link to join
3) Announce yourself when you start and finish riding.

If things other than zwift are occurring; we can create channels inside the server; end of the day it's just IIRC with a pretty face.

I already setup a couple of channels for you:
#zwift-live
#zwift-planning-rides
#trainerroad-live

Names can be updated

Go figure your existing CruzBike server has the inverse color scheme as mine :lol

Ok I just joined it but I guess there's nothing to be done without at least one other person logged.

Ok first quick test of Discord with Ratz is done. Text function is just like any group message but the voice feature is the new thing we're interested in. There's going to be a small setup and learning curve for each new members but it's not rocket science. The audio is clear but nether of us were on a trainer getting blasted by a fan. We'll keep messing around with it little by little and figure out a best intro setup that works for most people. I'll be on Zwift 4:30-6:30pm PST today through Friday if anyone wants to give it a test with me on the bike. I'll try and remember to turn it on before I start spinning.

This is so going to devolve into Tuesday night crit racing.... I should be on between 5:30pm-7:00pm PST but I'll be the guy riding around in ERG mode tonight; but will wave as people go by.... good enough for sound checks.

Playing around with Discord tonight; it definitely works and fits the bill for verbal chatting while riding on the trainer. Sounds was good; easy to use etc.

Also discovered that if you are using a Kickr with the newest firmware and you want to ride in Zwift on iOS (not sure about other OSes) you should first use the Wahoo Fitness app to place the Kickr into ERG Speed Simulation mode. Failure to do that will make it rather un-rideable.

well now I know why Jason doesn't do training plans. There aren't any hard enough. Just watched him do over an hours worth of 10% hill climbs non stop at over 2.5w/kg. Oh and he's still going strong.

:lol now I've got to worry about stalkers watching my secret training.

hey what happened on your end with discord audio? we showed you as having you mic muted

So for those that want to ride TrainerRoad Workouts in the Zwift virtual world. There are a couple ways to go about doing ZwifterRoad.

  • Laptop Users
    • PC's use Qty 2 ANT+ dongles One to control the Trainer and read HR and Cadence in TrainerRoad and the Other to "Monitor" power out, Hr and Cadence in Zwift.
    • Mac's use Qty 1 ANT+ dongle and Built in Bluetooth; Use BT in trainerroad (more reliable) and ANT+ in Kwift to monitor.
    • If you have a Mac or a PC and an ANT+ dongle for the laptop you also have the option of using TrainerRoad on a Smart phone via Bluetooth to run your training; and Zwift via ANT+ on the laptop to read the data
    • Most relible start Zwift first and get the sensors setup; then start TrainerRoad and get it's senosrs setup.
  • Mobile Device Users
    • IF using a laptop is inconvenient you can still do this using a phone and a tablet at the same time, but you need a bit more bike-side gear in the form of a BT capable power meter. And you need a phone that can do ANT+ natively or via the Wahoo ANT+ dongle.
    • Use Phone to run TrainerRoad via BT: to control the trainer. On same phone read cadence and HR via ANT+ (assumes dual channel cadence and hr sensors)
    • Use Tablet via BT to read HR and Cadence and while pulling power from your Power Meter via BT. Tablet Zwift doesn't support ANT+
    • Note: Using Zwift to "read" the power sensor and not control it should work and thus not require the power meter; in practice Zwift currently has a bad habit of stealing the trainer control for a few seconds and totally messing up TrainerRoad resistancd changes.
    • This mode of operation doesn't support using power match.
Why would someone do this? Simply because there are over 1000 workouts prebuilt in TrainerRoad and about 100 in Zwift. This is not meant to replace simulation mode; but to allow structured training to be conducted inside the Zwift virtual world which might just be the missing piece to motivate other people.

Ha Ha secret training isn't much of a secret when you advertise you'll be riding from this o'clock to this one. The mute button was hidden below the bottom of the screen and I couldn't find it until I reduced the screen size. I think its good now. Nice ride BTW. Think I learned something from it.

The funnier part was listening to your device doing audio on and off randomly prior to when you came back and set your avatar.

@ratz i saw this come across FB just now via Zwift's page.

I've just finished creating the 12 week Base training plan from A1 Coaching into Zwift. It's so much quicker when you realise you can edit the XML files!

Also next zwift update is supposed to open access to ISO to Ant+ connections for everything but resistance control on a trainer. This also came across FB via Zwift HQ

If all you have is a PC and 1 ANT+: Isn't another way, just to "build" the TR workout in the the Zwift workout creator. That's what I do most of the time - and then run Zwift in ERG - using either KICKR power or P1 power.
But today I just used had the TR workout on my laptop to glance at, and my Garmin and hit the lap button every time an interval starts and just used the avg power reading for the lap to monitor each "lap" (i.e. interval - it seemed to work pretty good as well. (Still using 2-devices however - but both Garmin and Zwift were reading power from my P1 pedals.

Yep, might have to dump that little app if I keep making that boo-boo. On another topic does anyone know if the Saris super clamp 2 has the seat clearance to haul two Cruzbikes?

Yes; just; if load them correctly; we have the 2 and the 4 (the four is a double 2). The handle bars become more the issue you may have to loosen and let one drop.

Hardest is S30+S30; or V20 + V20; if it's S30+V20 it's easy.

4th place in today's Zwift KISS Race. Got to test out my new TRON bike I earned last night around 11pm. Managed to nab the KOM climb jersey during the race as I hung on for dear life.

Last night at the summit right as I earned the TRON bike

Congratulations one heckuva ride. Now if we could just persuade you to ride under the Stars and Stripes to show those Europeans ,who kick our ass on anything moving with two wheels, they can't do it 100% of the time :)

What you don't like my Antarctica flag :p

I heard all the new years resolutioners crashed the zwift servers or something on the FB feed. I haven't been on today so I have no idea.

@Lucia as the most computer geeky and marketing connected of the Cruzbike HQ staff what are your thoughts on the subject of approaching zwift to add a Vendetta. I know they are always working on a large to do list of bikes they want to add on top of expansions to the available course routes.
I'm in! Just now catching up on the thread after lots of vacation time! Can't wait to see so many of you at Sebring this year!

I think it must have been all the "drag" created by having to ride with those "party hats".
IMHO - if they can spend the time and energy to create a "big wheel" bike and "party hats" for everyone, they could add a Cruzbike.
..
One cool thing maybe to get them to do quickly would be to add a Cruzbike "kit" - so we could at least have our Jersy's!
It's seems that about all they would need was the artwork from Cruzbike. - Go for it Lucia - and see you at Sebring!

If I recall correctly the big wheel was the original thing they built as a proof of concept so they didn't have to build a new pedaling and graphics clipping model for it this just brought it out of retirement.
