Zwift - Cruzbike Activities (races and group rides)

You can ask for a team kit when we have a substantial zwift team. That doesn't mean 4-5 guys with only one of them who joins rides or races.

I'm in, when is the next F level race?
NEW RIDE ALERT (18:30 GMT): The Wednesday PAC 1.5 w/kg Ride is our easiest beginner friendly ride aimed at Zwifters looking for a group ride experience at a pace of around 1.5w/kg. Flat pace will be no faster than 18-19mph (29-30kph) to ensure the group draft effect is kept under tight control. You can sign up now via the mobile app as all of our rides are scheduled via the zwift events module.

Zwift has also teamed up with CycleOps to offer one lucky Zwifter a new CycleOps Magnus smart trainer. All you have to do is finish the ride today to be entered into the zwift random drawing to win.

Please join our facebook group to stay informed about all our rides, view ride reports, provide feedback or to ask questions if you have any.

Tried an EVR Race tonight and an intense 4way and then 3 way battle for 2nd place. lots of attacks by me in the last 3 miles but in the end it cam down to a sprint finish with me taking 3rd. Today i felt a little flat so a bit of fatigue and probably my body doing it's thing fighting off this flu that has been going around. 4.3w/kg over 53 mins

Nice job! Looks like you cracked that 300 watt number.
Wish I had known you were racing I would have taken a peep. A quick question on the Zwift ID number. When I go to the user file it has a number in the title, IE: User file ######. When you open the file there are a pot full of numbers. Have I assumed correctly the correct number to use in races is the user file title number?

your so losing me there. is this that strava user id thing to connect your strava profile to zwift power for results?

ok now i know what you talking about. yes you don't need to open that user****** file. just use the number in the folder name as your id number to link the accounts.

Ok it might be good for your two to summarize that with Objective; and steps to accomplish; you lost me and I know what the you are talking about and it still sounds like two :emoji_alien: speaking. If I'm going; ugh :emoji_dizzy_face:I can figure out the how; but hmmmm other stuff to do. others likely are too.

If you want to do a race and have your results listed on zwift power .com you need to link you zwift account with the ZP website so they can see you. This is done by creating a ZP account and then in the setting menu there's a stop to add your Zwift ID number and right under it in simple text is the pathway to finding the folder with your ID number. It makes more sense once you creat the ZP account and cab look at what we're looking at.

OK this Zwift thing has me hooked. Did my first race today and the results were as suspected :( 85 out of 95). Yes slow, but I think I can hold my own in the D category. Jasons idea of a team cruzbike is a great idea. It has all kinds of potential. It is not all about racing, although racing is a hoot! We can have group rides, the ladies can build their numbers with a Cruzbike Lady Ride, instuctional rides-- the sky is really the limit. Dont forget to throw in the discord app to have the live audio. In fact our A racers really should already be riding together practicing their Sebring race strategies. How about it, who's in?

Congrats on not coming in last, in fact from from last. Now just keep at it and explore.

Of our A racers it seems I'm the only one not on a strict plan so it's hard to get everyone to ride together.

Of course it's none of my business but I'll say it anyway. As a bonified Cruzbike fan I am authorized to be counting on the "A" Team to come through in Spades at Sebring. Yes we have seen some amazing individual riding in the past but we have also seen some good riders snookered. The woulda, coulda, shoulda, talk needs to be left to the competion this year. With this said, those boys (and girls) love their brands also and have no intentions of letting a bunch of time trialers walk away with the booty. Be advised the scheming, (as they rightly should) is well underway and the Cruzbike "A" teamers are advised to take some time to develop a congruent , well organized , team able to scoot, shoot and communicate together. This Zwift/Discord thing provides an amazing opportunity to do just that. Keep the strict training plan but see the value in this gift that is litterly sitting in your lap.

When I comes to Sebring my race will be a purely secluded effort between me and my pit crew. There is no need to communicate with any of the other riders beyond the normal pleasantries. Now everyone else in team CruzBike has the opportunity to work together but it'll be tough given the speed differences between each categories distance.

I still think zwift and discord could be used well for anyone willing to give it a try. Ratz could even hold group training sessions with audio ques for sprints and such. It wouldn't be as regulated as an ERG session but it could add just enough fun to "training" to be a gateway for some others to get into the trainer road workouts.

I wouldn't be so sure. Has anyone looked at your goals and then look at the past winning times for the 100 & 12 hrs. You have to almost sweep all races. Then the other side of the coin says if you are correct then the drafting groups become your pacer. BTW, for those who fail to see the humor and friendly banter in my OP (which is often many folks), I do realize these guys "A" guys have managed very well without my nuggets of wisdom and undoubtely can continue to do so without them. But I'm bored and my legs are too tired to try and work towards moving off of the bottom of the D category pack :(

I get the impression the A teams humor sensors are fully functional.

I think I'm going to jump into the KISS Americas PM race at 5:15pm PST(40 mins from now) you can watch live results in the link below. You'll need to click the LIVE button on the top right, it need to be blue to see live results I think. It also takes a few mins to get going during the race as well I think so keep checking. Someone should log on 5 mins before the race to see if they can choose to ride with me. If not you can try again after I actually start the race. You'll want to quickly click on me or someone in the peleton and then you can just between racers and watch the race. I'll also fire up Discord if anyone wants, I'll listen but I can't promise much talking on my part.

Bah we aren't that organized; the competition will come and wipe floor with us; :emoji_coffin: We probably shouldn't show up. Sebring is so dam early in the season; people are barely on base training :emoji_lifter: I'm probably just gonna ride in the pack with PluckyBlond and let her pace me. Once I'm sure I she's safely to the 11 mile loop with no mechanicals I can lay down some mileage on the 12 hour. If hit 150miles that is a fair twelve hour mark right? :emoji_muscle:

Is it possible you could be a pacer for the drafting group?
Riders in the non-drafting 24-hour event are not even supposed to have people "drafting" behind them as this actually gives them an aero boost.
But like Jason said, he will be pacing for the 24 hour event, which will be much slower than the "A" group speed in the Century and/or 12-hour.

Hardy,
Sadly as Ratz has eluded to, it is super early in the season and Kevin, Jim, Maria & I are on supposed to be on a gentle ramp for RAAM which ends in the middle of June. This means we will be no where close to our best fitness level for Sebring.
That doesn't mean I won't "give it my all", and I am highly considering just riding the Century instead of the 12-hour so I can "have more fun" on the Century and hopefully still kill it! - A Cruzbike could still win the Century especially if Alvin, Jim and myself (possibly others too) are able to work together well. It's really hard to "plan" much as there are so many variables, but rest assured I am pretty confident that all 3 of us will ride that Century just as hard as we are capable of. (for me, I'm watching the last hour+ of the Sebring Century every day during my work so I'll be super familiar with the road and all the landmarks!)

Don't tell anyone but there was a glitch in the computer and there was no one else on the track

I pulled out my old Kurt Kinetic trainer (non-erg) and gave Zwift a try. I have never been much of a "trainer" rider, but these new apps like Zwift look interesting, so I thought I would give them a try. On first ride, I got my rider up to 40 mphs and a power level of over a 1,000 watts. Was blowing by everyone and got an on-screen recognition for breaking the 1000 watt threshhold. Obviously, something was not right (I'm a D class rider). So, I turned the knob on the trainer and increased the resistance a bit, and then could hardly break 200 watts or 10 mph. Gave up after looking on the web and not finding any guidance for how to adjust the resistance on a "manual" trainer for apps like Zwift, Trainer Road, etc.

So, the long and short of it is that I now have a Wahoo Kickr on order. Looking forward to giving these apps a legitimate try once I have the new erg trainer.
