Bidding ends today, but I might be the new owner of a titanium Performer low racer if all goes well. It has SRAM Red 2x11 on it now, a Campagnolo Zonda on the back now, and needs a bit of touching up with the bars, but let's see how it goes. If I get it then I can do a bit of comparison with my V20 once I get it set up how I want. messageImage_1779063405001.jpg

Do you know what front brake that is? Looks a very nicely built bike bike but I know what you mean about the bars as they certainly don't "look" comfortable from the pic. And would that be the longest chain on any bike ever? :p

Yeah, a RWD does have some cons, some of those being the long chain and chain tubes and a few others, but going in a relatively straight line it should be pretty nice. As for the front brake, I can see TRP, but am not sure and can't see it clearly, but maybe you can tell from this pic...

Dude! I still love the low rider feel. That of course explains why I have my blue v20 with a cut fork and 406’s.

That said, among my noncb bikes is my M5tica, which is still one of my absolute favorites to ride. The performer is similar.
I put my tica on my wahoo trainer just so i can ride it.

Don’t expect it to be faster than the v. It is close, but my v is still faster. It’s just a totally different ride experience.

Have fun!

I rode my friend's (coasted is the right word really) Performer low racer and I have a feeling that it will feel great once I am able to pedal it because it is so low. One guy posted that his low racer was .5mph father than his high racer, but I am not expecting it to be noticeably faster, if at all. There is a lot more to it than just being lower.
Edit: Speaking of being lower, I just remembered that the gates I usually slide through on my V20 because the pedals are higher might be a major problem on a low racer.

I guess if anyone really has a need for speed, and wants to go extremely fast they would get a racing velomobile like the Snoek, or a Streamliner for ultimate speed.

Yes, I agree Maverick1. Despite hitting a big setback with it I have been working on a Streamliner for a while now. I don't really have a guaranteed place to open it up here once it is done, but I will be able to ride it on the Arakawa river where I always ride at slower speeds. My first plan was to have my brother build the majority of it in Texas where we would at least be able to get it to some events or worst case scenario have roads long and wide enough to open it up from time to time. However, my brother doesn't have a lot of time to devote to it, and it isn't a priority for him like it is for me lol. I thought he would be finished with the final part and be able to ship it to me in the beginning of this month but 3 huge things came up on his side and I'll have to wait a bit more.

As for this titanium Performer here though, the seller changed the ad from an auction (pick up only) to a higher fixed price sell with shipping included. Now it is priced at $2000 which might be a bit too expensive for a side project that might be faster just to tide me over until my brother sends the other one to me.

Ooops did I forget to mention another n+1 from earlier this year? I bought Sebastian’s s40 and his early WAW velomobile. It is one of the very early Kevlar racers. Needs a full resto, but I fit in it better than the varna….
