Thank you Maverick1, I will be happy if the frame is straight and solid, the welds are good, and the seat is functional. I expect the CdA will be slightly lower, but there are going to be some tradoffs in total owner experience that I might open a new post about.
Yeah, a RWD does have some cons, some of those being the long chain and chain tubes and a few others, but going in a relatively straight line it should be pretty nice. As for the front brake, I can see TRP, but am not sure and can't see it clearly, but maybe you can tell from this pic...Do you know what front brake that is? Looks a very nicely built bike bike but I know what you mean about the bars as they certainly don't "look" comfortable from the pic. And would that be the longest chain on any bike ever?
I rode my friend's (coasted is the right word really) Performer low racer and I have a feeling that it will feel great once I am able to pedal it because it is so low. One guy posted that his low racer was .5mph father than his high racer, but I am not expecting it to be noticeably faster, if at all. There is a lot more to it than just being lower.
Yes, I agree Maverick1. Despite hitting a big setback with it I have been working on a Streamliner for a while now. I don't really have a guaranteed place to open it up here once it is done, but I will be able to ride it on the Arakawa river where I always ride at slower speeds. My first plan was to have my brother build the majority of it in Texas where we would at least be able to get it to some events or worst case scenario have roads long and wide enough to open it up from time to time. However, my brother doesn't have a lot of time to devote to it, and it isn't a priority for him like it is for me lol. I thought he would be finished with the final part and be able to ship it to me in the beginning of this month but 3 huge things came up on his side and I'll have to wait a bit more.
Looks like a mini U brake on a brake plate. You can probably tell I only know U brakes from BMX. I thought it looked nice and chunky and not seen one of those before.
Thanks for the advice 3bs. I really love Ti, and the original auction starting price was about $1200 and if the frame proved to not have any cracks I felt that would have been a pretty good price. I would have probably stripped as much as possible off it and put some spare stuff I have here, but now that the seller changed the ad to a higher set price with shipping included I think I am gonna pass on it. My current Ti streamliner project bike should be arriving soon enough which means I would probably have to sell a bike or two to make space.
