Thank you braddah. So close to 40kph for 100km, so I have a bit of work still to do.
Thank you braddah. I hope to be able to get the full 100 at 40kph, and then see what speeds I can get for another 50km.Very impressive my friend.
Maybe you should change your forum name to "Road Runner."

I went to the DIY shop yesterday evening and was looking at hose clamps but I didn't buy anything. Can you post a pic of how yours are secured to the top of the fork? While checking them out I couldn't figure out a good way to do that.Would a hose clamp work? A had a burst water pipe in the Texas Freeze some years back and thanks to my handyman neighbor was able to rig a radiator hose held at both ends with hose clamps. Note I did have to use 2 hose clamps on one end for it to hold. Could not get a plumber for a month and the hose clamps held.
Thanks Vos, good suggestion. I will check one or two out nearby today.Go to an automotive aftermarket shop. They should have a range of hose clamps that have a bolt rather than the normal worm drive that are for intercooler pipes on turbo cars. Pick one of the right size. They have a lot of clamp force and should be reliable. Typical plumbing ones are worm drive and can fall apart if you try to do them tight.... and I would want this one tight. In Tokyo there should be a few options for that!

We'd be running each other down in the store.... "I'm thinking this piece would work for the....."It’s amazing how much time I’ve spent wandering around hardware stores looking for some piece that I can fabricate (read: ”hack”) into what I need for a bike!

Helmets with integrated visors are quite hard to get right considering we use headrests. I like my visors to sit as close to my skin as possible to stop junk from hitting my eyes, but I can't say how much money I spent and visors I've modified with magnets incorrectly. My Limar Speedking with DIY visors works well now, but the visor sometimes connects with my sunglasses, rubbing and damaging them in exactly my field of vision. This new helmet is advertised as being able to be worn with sunglasses so I am pretty sure it will work.I've tried helmets with integrated visors and just can't make them work. The visor usually ends up being a sweaty, foggy mess that I can't see through.
I looked at them before, but they were not sold in the states. I have Giro Vanquish. I wear glasses underneath the visor, and they fit well.Along with changing from the 19" chainstay to a 21" chainstay I have ordered a Casco Carbonic helmet from a local seller. I would have preferred it to be white mostly for visibility purposes, but also because with lower ventilation than typical cycling helmets it might be a tad cooler in Summer.

The taller chainstays have dropped the bars lower, which might interfere with my expanding gut while wearing my hydration bag, but oh well.
Same here. The best I’ve found is a Ekoi AR16 but the fit is a bit too tight to wear it longer than 1h and the magnetic attachment a bit wobbly. At the end of the day I reverted to separate helmet and glasses. Now that my two main bikes allow me to ride without a headrest, I’ll have more options so might start chasing the unicorn again…Helmets with integrated visors are quite hard to get right considering we use headrests.
