Thank you braddah. So close to 40kph for 100km, so I have a bit of work still to do.

I changed my 58t chainring back to the 54t for yesterday's ride, and I found that for the tailwind section where I gave it the beans on the tailwind section my cadence was much higher than what I've grown accustomed to with the 58t. It was surely in combination with the +30C heat but that higher cadence felt like it was really taxing me. I never use a HRM but I certainly felt my HR in the red zone. I had a feeling all of that was going to happen by dropping to the 54t but now I know for sure.

Doh! Broke my clamp on my V20 when changing chainstays. I will try to 2-part epoxy it back together, but I don't really think it will hold. At the DIY store I found a similar width almuninum bar and other metal bars that I might try to DIY but that is a long shot. Also, I will take this broken one to a nearby metal fabricator to see if he can make one out of steel.

Would a hose clamp work? A had a burst water pipe in the Texas Freeze some years back and thanks to my handyman neighbor was able to rig a radiator hose held at both ends with hose clamps. Note I did have to use 2 hose clamps on one end for it to hold. Could not get a plumber for a month and the hose clamps held.

I went to the DIY shop yesterday evening and was looking at hose clamps but I didn't buy anything. Can you post a pic of how yours are secured to the top of the fork? While checking them out I couldn't figure out a good way to do that.
Go to an automotive aftermarket shop. They should have a range of hose clamps that have a bolt rather than the normal worm drive that are for intercooler pipes on turbo cars. Pick one of the right size. They have a lot of clamp force and should be reliable. Typical plumbing ones are worm drive and can fall apart if you try to do them tight.... and I would want this one tight. In Tokyo there should be a few options for that!

I just have the regular clamp that comes with the V20c. Photos below if you need them. On my CA2 I have a section of PVC pipe holding my front derailleur. You could wrap your slider with a section of PVC pipe (even paint it) for the hose clamp to go around.

Another question: don't you have 2 clamps on the V20? If so you could move the one to the fork and use the hose clamp where the other was. I only have 1 clamp on the V20c (at the fork).

Thank you for the pics @Rolling Along. As for the clamps, the boom clamp might fit over the slider, but it won't connect to the top of the fork due where the pin inserts into the hole. The pin is about 1-1/4" long and the boom clamp can't be opened that wide for the pin to fit and secure the boom/slider to the top of the fork. Replacing the boom clamp with a hose clamp would be a breeze, but of course I break the one that is most difficult to DIY LOL.

I went to the DIY shop and bought this painted steel flat bar. The existing holes were too small so I reamed out 1 of them, installed it, bent it over the slider and saw that the other hole was just a tad off. Since I had to ream that one also to make it fit, I reamed only on 1 side with a Dremel tool and installed it. It held securely while applying left and right pressure to it at home, and then during the short test ride yesterday when I slowly increased turning pressure on it during the ride up to about 400 watts. I've already ordered a new pivot clamp from CB, which I will install as soon as it arrives, but I will flatten out this spare for emergency use and keep it in my Moose Pack since it is so light and doesn't take up any space. I cut off the excess so it doesn't rub on the frame.

Along with changing from the 19" chainstay to a 21" chainstay I have ordered a Casco Carbonic helmet from a local seller. I would have preferred it to be white mostly for visibility purposes, but also because with lower ventilation than typical cycling helmets it might be a tad cooler in Summer.
The taller chainstays have dropped the bars lower, which might interfere with my expanding gut while wearing my hydration bag, but oh well.
