    Cruzbike Q45 for Sale

Nobody's going to take your post seriously without what model year and color it is, component specs, what mods you've made (if any), has it been crashed, etc.

What crank arms/ should I use?

We have three LBS and a recumbent shop near the capital city. The LBS mechanics have been happy to learn about Cruzbikes, and even attempt test rides after repairs. The elderly recumbent-shop owner despises Cruzbikes, calling them "dangerous" because he tried one out at a trade show more than a...

    Large capacity aerodynamic tailboxes.

Well, between that tail number and the radioactive symbol, I figured that was your warp drive. ;)

    Mathew's bike tours.

They're still working on that? There was a section closed when we went through there last October, that was supposed to be finished Any Day Now.

T50 vs Q45 as Faster Road Build

You might want to take a look at the Cruzbike "Who Needs a Test Ride?" page. Scroll down a little ways and you'll find a chart of rider height/weight ranges. The Q45 would be more suited to the kind of riding you mention. The Q45 page lists the parts specifications. It takes a 165mm shock.

I pedaled today: Question on foot steering

I used MTB shoes with pinned MTB platform pedals for months when learning to ride my first Cruzbike.

    Why drop bars?

When Cruzbike first came out with the Silvio (ancestor of the S40), it was sold as a frameset only. The idea was that the buyer would move their existing road bike components, including handlebars, to the new frameset. The handlebars that come with the S40 and V20 now are more like trekking...

    New member T 50

I'm in the "if I can ride a Cruzbike, anyone can" camp. I didn't get the hang of riding a regular bike until I was 7 or 8 years old. I bought a Cruzbike Quest (grandfather of the Q45) 8 1/2 years ago. I could ride it almost immediately, but I was slow, wobbly, and nervous for several months...

    2022 Natchez Trace event

A few comments from the crew's perspective: --There are precious few flat, straight stretches on the Natchez Trace, and most of those are less than half a mile long. You're almost always either in a curve, on a hill, or both at once. This makes leapfrogging your rider to let traffic pass...

    New V20c

Once I could ride my Quest 451 well enough to take it on quiet roads, I was concerned about how much I unintentionally drifted left and right in the lane. One day, a few months later, I realized I wasn't drifting any worse than I had done on my road bike. So I relaxed and quit thinking so much...

    2022 Natchez Trace event

The wind and steep downhills were making Magic unstable. He had to switch to his V20c after about 20 miles. (That V20c is pretty fine, too.) It was a blast to watch Larry passing other riders on uphills. After the ride, I overheard a member of one of the teams telling him how hard the team had...

@LarryOz finished the ride, and did very well. I'll let him give you the rundown once he gets home. Picture from just before he started the ride:

To V20c as a lifelong DF roadie

We used to have a recumbent-and-kayak shop* in my area. The owner tried an early Cruzbike model at an expo years ago, didn't like it because he didn't get the hang of it right away, and has disparaged Cruzbikes as "dangerous" ever since. *He converted the shop to a trike-only...

    2022 Natchez Trace event

I've been wondering that myself. I looked at the list of riders on the web site last week and didn't see @LarryOz listed.

    First ride - questions

I couldn't ride no-hands on the Q until after I swapped out the pogo stick...er, I mean, suspended fork ;) for a rigid QX100 fork, and the stock rear shock for an air shock. Couldn't do it on the S30 until I installed a Thor seat, which raised my head and shoulders a bit. I resemble that remark :D

    Uphill starts

I have that kind of pedal (Shimano M324) on both my Cruzbikes. I put a mounting bracket from an old set of PowerGrips on my starting pedal to weight it where the platform side defaults to facing me, and the other bracket on the other pedal to default the clip side to facing me.

    First ride - questions

It will improve. You'll get to where you can take one hand off the handlebars without thinking about it and keep a straight line. You may even find one day, after some practice, that you can ride no-hands.
