First ride with the "A" group riders in years: the good..., and the bad.

Good job and good pics. Wishing you the best with the healing process.

    Thursday Night A Sprints

On my early morning ride today I saw no other riders. I finally realized why--I had put the word out that Weissert was in town. They must have bought it and stayed home!

    I cut the boom

Hmm I think I understand your dilemma but not sure. Is that the stock handlebar? It looks like rotating the bar so the grip area above your brakes is more vertical would bring the bar ends closer to you (but a bit higher). Have you already tried that? In the pic below, if I rotated my grip area...

    Bullhorn and Dropbar Options

Thanks Alan. Yeah I wish the bar end shifters ran inside the bar; if they did I would drill out holes for them to exit (in a plane at right angles to the main push/pull vector). The bullhorn bar that John Tolhurst introduced for Vendetta was my inspiration for this goofiness which I found I...

    Bullhorn and Dropbar Options

Thanks, Bentas, those are Radical Design Solo Racer bags (wide). You can see another post on this forum from awhile back, just search 'underseat location for Radical Design Solo Racer wide bags' and it will come up. Wish I could get the link for you but the search is easy. That post by BobD is...

    Bullhorn and Dropbar Options

This is just a Sofrider but this works well and plan to use this on S30 or V20. SRAM R2C shifters, Shimano road brake levers, Gary 2 handlebars. Results in all of the positives mentioned above, none of the negatives, as well as multiple very ergonomic hand positions. No problem with the shifter...

PSA - This is why you don't ride during a thunderstorm

Impressive! There's a story on FB about a woman in Baton Rouge who, during that same storm, risked life and limb by going out in the midst of it to retrieve the American flag that had been blown down at her place of employment. Hats off to her, and to Baton Rouge.

Who would like a: Cruzbike Fantasy TT Series??????

Larry, thanks for the encouragement. I will indeed plan to participate. Just be prepared for some slow times! I am currently the embodiment of the 'slow spokes' movement ;):p:cool:

Who would like a: Cruzbike Fantasy TT Series??????

Larry, thanks for the update. I decided not to participate since I'm just this past week able to ride much after an inexplicably long recovery from arthoscopic knee surgery. A pretty minor procedure usually but it has set me way back this season. Thanks again

Hi Robert, just wondering if you have any idea when the medium frame Vendetta will be back in stock? Thanks for any help, Kline

    Sizing conundrum

Hmmm interesting. So lower bb might trade some top end for climbing power. Very interesting....

    Sizing conundrum

Thanks ratz, I will wait. Hope Robert can give us an idea of when they will be shipping again. When you say "....a small would have worked....but would have been much more of a climber" are you saying the small size climbs better or am I misreading that?

    Sizing conundrum

Hmmm. Was planning to order a medium (tax refund finally in!) and prepared to use a stem riser if need be. The sizing chart for the V puts me near the low end of medium but with an ex-seam of 41.5 inches would a small be better? It seems that would put the bottom bracket pretty low. The thing I...

    Vendetta vs others

Not sure if this will help in your quest for enlightenment but here is my experience. I put a bit over 1,000 miles on a CA2 over the late spring and summer of 2013 and while it was fast (way faster a bike than I am a rider) it just lacked...something. Wasn't sure just what. My curiosity got the...

    Q ring upgrade - Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh......

So here's the difference between the JT method and Rotor's method: before and after shots of the crank at 70 degrees back from the dead spot. Tho to be up to date his amended method in an earlier post says rotate back only 60 degrees, which would result in something quite similar to the 'after'...

    Q ring upgrade - Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh......

Good, that's a relief. Thanks for taking a look at it. And yes the bolt closest to the dérailleur in that pic will be my OCP bolt. Here's another question if you can stand more on this topic: what is the actual use of the other OCP settings? If I wanted to tweak towards easier...
