Spectacular, most of us can only daydream about such an accomplishment. Congratulations!

First Silvio ride was a wash...literally

I usually tried to stay out of the largest two cogs when in the big Q-ring but that's a question I hope some of the more experienced and knowledgeable bike mechanics will chime in on! Until just over a year ago I had rarely done much more than change the occasional flat so better to get more...

First Silvio ride was a wash...literally

Glad you got your q-ring adjusted but troubling that your chain comes off. Have you tried dialing your outer limit screw back just a little?

    Painless in Flowood

David, glad you were able to sell the Silvio quickly although still sorry you had to sell it at all. Here's hoping you quickly get back to a point where you can get another Silvio. Or a Vendetta! Regards, Kline

    2104 Silvio for sale

I will second what battleaxeO said. Lovely bike, well set up. I hated hearing about this and am hoping you can find a way to keep your bike.

    Painless in Flowood

Great write up, castlerobber! And good pics from you and battleaxeO Hats off again to Jim & Lane Snider, and their shop RideSouth for a great event. RideSouth is one of the very best recumbent oriented shops in the US and probably world wide. Google it! Immediately! :-) After Saturday...

    Sram Yaw clamp-on adaptor

Rick and Bob, thank you. Shifters will be Sram bar end 10spd R2C that i lucked up on and got new on ebay at a very good price.... Sold by a bike shop as 'take offs' from a new bike to upgrade, i'm assuming to 11spd. So, should be ok there if i decide to make that switch. This set up is a bit of...

    Sram Yaw clamp-on adaptor

Skipping the long and winding explanation for what my perfervid little brain is considering, 1) does anyone have any experience with or knowledge of whether a Yaw FD will actually work well using one of sram's clamp on adaptors? (no braze-on mount on Sofrider) 2) if Yaw will work using the...

    Silvio S30 - chainstay extension?

I see what you mean. Hope you get rid of the elbow pain. That looks like a pretty ergonomic setup, so maybe just a little tweaking?

    Silvio S30 - chainstay extension?

Lief, could you post a pic of your "Gary bars curved backwards"?

    SoftRider Replacement Handlebars

Nitto B115 handlebars trial on Sofrider--narrower, more aero (not usually a real consideration on a Sofrider!) but since there is very very little flare on the extensions--and none on the ramps--note how it presses into wrist/forearm. Ok for a short ride but I don't think it would be comfortable...

    SoftRider Replacement Handlebars

    SoftRider Replacement Handlebars

Gary 2 bar, flipped end over end and rotated forward approx 90 degrees. Currently (after those pics were taken) have the seat back to 45 degrees, same as Silvio 1 and 1.5. Good reach, knee clearance etc. Note that the stem faces backward to give leg clearance and allow for good reach. KM

I always forget about Revolution but I hear they do good work.

First Silvio ride was a wash...literally

Clever approach to get it working while waiting, and get some riding in....I like it! Which of our LBS's do you use? When I get done with my Sofrider makeover maybe I'll drop in there and give them a look at another "non-traditional" bike ;-)
