    It arrived

Can you share details of the In an ideal world, posting a file that explains how the block is made would be ideal (hint hint...) (Doug had something similar for an adapter to use disc brakes on the rear of a Sofrider). Of course, we don't really live in an ideal world (but we...

    Newbie Rider Report

Here's my blog entry about my Here's my blog entry about my first time with clipless. Longish-story-very-short: grab onto a pole and practice clipping in and out for 30 minutes before riding. When unclipping just one foot, hold it well away from the bike to make sure you don't tip...

How much may I recline my seat without having to install a headrest?

Move the seat back up and Move the seat back up and then just lower it a little. Ride for a while. Repeat. It makes a huge difference doing this in smaller steps. Yes, you'll still hit a point where you probably can't get past, but...

How much may I recline my seat without having to install a headrest?

HI I0, I think it's a HI I0, I think it's a personal thing, and I think from your description, the answer is somewhere between 50 and 43 degrees. 1) Don't fear the neck rest. 2) You may find that if you lower your seat bit by bit, your body gets used to it. Cheers, Charles

You pretty much got it.  You pretty much got it. There are shoes that will allow both types of cleats. For somebody who hasn't used clipless before, I recommend MTB shoes/pedals/cleats. If you're racing, then it probably makes sense to go with road shoes/pedals/cleats, but otherwise...

    Newbie Rider Report

Hi, I find that clipless Hi, I find that clipless pedals (after one is comfortable on a Cruzbike) makes a huge difference in control. While I can now ride without hands and without clipping in, I find it much easier to do so clipped in. Nashbar has sandals. A lot of people like the...

    Silvio 2.0 - 2.1 ?s

1, 2, 3) This is confusing.  1, 2, 3) This is confusing. The "2.1" says "2.0" but in red. I believe there are small differences, but I don't know if they actually bumped up the version number. 4) MBB - Moving bottom bracket. When you turn the handlebars, the bottom bracket (attached to...

If it's not expensive, just If it's not expensive, just take it to a shop to have the tabs cut off. It's hard to make money selling bike parts, so you might as well put it to good use. :D

Y26 Progress (was My persistence in searching has borne fruit!)

Hi Sam, I agree that the Hi Sam, I agree that the lower height makes sense for learning how to ride. For what it's worth, I'd probably wait and see if you can find a decent used suspension fork where (where it either doesn't have tabs or cost you such that you don't mind cutting them...

    I ordered a Silvio...Built it Up...and my First Ride...and 300 miles later!

I know there's a lot on BROL I know there's a lot on BROL about how difficult it is to ride MBB bikes that's silly. Most people pick it up pretty quickly. That being said, you're not supposed to pick it up (and clip in) that quickly! Well done, sir!

Hi, Apparently I'm going to Hi, Apparently I'm going to response in almost perfect reverse order. I use this adjustable stem on both of my Cruzbikes. It can help a lot. On my conversion, I added a single washer on outside of the drive side to make sure the wheel stays put...

May I remove the tab which holds the kickstand?

Yes, I know, my fault, I I completely disagree with this statement! :D (Not that I don't think the Quest, particularly 451, is cool!) Make sure you take pictures of what you end up doing.
