    reading the tea leaves

I completely agree that it I completely agree that it would be unfortunate if the Silvio price got raised. I can imagine that with the new Silvio, the Vendetta sales have dropped and lowering the price of it may make sense. I do understand that it does seem somewhat strange to have...

    looking for component suggestions

Hi Bob, If it were me, I'd Hi Bob, If it were me, I'd put a triple with 74 BCD for the inner ring (can go down to 24T) - see this thread about that. Otherwise, I think it's mostly what you can get at that price and get the components you usually would for a road bike. Good luck...

USS Yiggy (version 1.1), a Trek Y 26 CruzBike Conversion

Nice write up. You're Nice write up. You're learning a lot with this bike. :D I'm a little worried about the zip ties holding the conversion kit to the fork. Keep an eye on those (at least). For the seat pan, your weight and the seat post should help keep it in place. Now let's hear...

    Elliptical rings and pedal steer

Hi Rizwan, It sounds like it Hi Rizwan, It sounds like it is really just an experience thing (which is good). Find a nice quiet place and just work on smooth cadence pedaling. Smooooth. Smooooooooth. Keep up informed. :) Cheers, Charles

    Elliptical rings and pedal steer

I agree with Eric. My I agree with Eric. My conversion rides just like my Sofrider. Part of it in your case is inexperience, so just riding will help (it might be your legs over compensating for your arms, for example). But it's worth checking to make sure your bike is tight in all the right...

    Elliptical rings and pedal steer

It's also worth pointing out It's also worth pointing out that pedal steer will almost completely go away with practice. Many Cruzbike riders can ride with no hands. This probably is somewhat a silly goal in itself, but learning how to ride with no hands means you've mastered pedal steer.

Y26 Progress (was My persistence in searching has borne fruit!)

Hi,  sounds like you're Hi, sounds like you're making good progress. Get the new chain sooner than later as you can destroy your rear derailleur /wheel if you shift into the wrong gear with too short a chain. Also, front derailleurs are notoriously under spec'ed. You may not...

Anybody heard of a TranzX monoshock?

Hi Chris, I should have also Hi Chris, I should have also wrote that if you want to upgrade to 700c because (1) you'll have better tire choices or (2) it just looks cooler, those are plenty good reasons. I don't see any reason why the fork you posted wouldn't work. Can you post a...

Anybody heard of a TranzX monoshock?

Hi, For what it's worth, 700c Hi, For what it's worth, 700c wheels shouldn't make very much difference by themselves at all. The gearing will be a little bit bigger, but if you're running the same tire/same hub, then you probably won't notice the difference. What tires are you running...

    It arrived

Another option would be for Another option would be for Cruzbike to drop of build instructions at a milling place so that people can just order what they want online. Shouldn't cost too much for the user and wouldn't cost Cruzbike anything at all (well, except the time to set it up ).

How much may I recline my seat without having to install a headrest?

Jose, would you mind For what it's worth, it's not obvious to me either. Not to mention that aerodynamics really just isn't obvious in general ( e.g., adding a good tailbox can do just as much as some fairings which just ain't obvious to me :) ). If you really want to know which is...
