    iQ2 Power Meter on Kickstarter

I did get a message from the IQ2 power team... you have to have cadence in order to work out power and they will be giving the cadence values. All I can see is win win... but power meters are notorious for burning money in R & D. IQ2 looks certainly at a good position with all their backers at...

    iQ2 Power Meter on Kickstarter

Looked pretty convincing to me and these guys aren't Chinese (more trustworthy) than the last Kickstarter project I backed. I backed the product and just asked about cadence... I can't see how their technology can monitor cadence. I know watteam powerbeat does but I can't use the powerbeat...

    Bike porn

It's spring time here in Spain and already it's 20c at 8am... so the old lid which I've had has been replaced with this ekoi... Its only 184 grams and ekoi are currently doing a sale. I plan to do more hill riding and my Giro air is too hot to work with. Next on the list... Its a tubeless...

2018 Gold Vendetta with lots of extras

Sorry to here about your back pain. Lumbar support helped me and I was so so close in purchasing a third party seat. Did you ever try riding with a support belt?

    The next generation Cruzbike?

I did and still am. After the next upgrade it's going to be the moonshot to mars. There is still more I can do with it. One of the biggest upgrades is a better wheelset but I'm still out if I want to go with disc brakes. If I lived in a wet country then no brainer but I live in a desert.

    RX Bike Sunglasses

Bad news eh! I have to wear two pairs of glasses when riding the Vendetta as my eyes get sand blasted. If anyone already has this helmet... how do they find it?

    New to cruzbike

Might need slight adjustment with customizing fine tuning. But more likely just getting use to cruzbike. After the Christmas cold period I got on the bike and I felt awful but now fine. Flexing the leg muscles help as do the shoulders.

    New to cruzbike

Q rings are good for big cranks. Smaller cranks are better on recumbents. The smaller the crank is the less advantage you have with q rings. I suggest chop the cranks. 155 mm pretty good if you are a 6 footer and you want to go faster on the V or Silvio ... the smaller the crank the faster the...

    A momentous weekend

Gosh. Message here is tubeless is great. Even if the tire deflates. The bead of a tubeless tire would stay on the rim for longer. After I had a slide the other year I did the changeover. Best thing I ever did.

    V20 on velodrome

I built a DF for the task. My brother is always complaining that he can't keep up with me. It's like the Vendetta and scary fast. It's all carbon, it's minimal and it's aero. It won't win in an endurance but will keep up in a social. It might win a crit race but the V could never. It's fixed...

    It has became normal

Yep... I make sure I don't pedal. Keep the feet on the pedals and lift your bottom up so you are resting on your shoulders. You still might have jettisoning bottles so go slow and you should stay on. This works on rough roads, not kirbs. Nothing works on kirbs. Going down a kirb perhaps but up a...

    New to cruzbike

Even 30 degrees is very radical if you haven't been on a recumbent before. Try the cushion idea or stick an inflatable pillow up your jersey. Speed is your enemy when you are new to the V. Hopefully you aren't new to clipping into the pedals. It helps learning to ride with one foot in and the...

    New to cruzbike

Tie a cushion on the seat so your posture is more upright. The lower centre of gravity is upsetting your balance. Learn to relax. Don't be rigid. Find a slope. Freddie Flintstone it. Feel the balance and characteristics. Acceleration is phenomenal so just go for a small slope. I'll never...

    Longer chainstay = more speed

Well you know better than me because you have done it. Now that you have said that... it's given me the idea that each knee goes through a different loci of points depending on chainstay. I still suspect the knees will go higher with a higher bottom bearing.

    Longer chainstay = more speed

I have a vendetta. My cranks are 155mm , I have a medium chainstay 19" and my knees at the highest position are just over 3 inches over my shoulders. The only way I can lower my knee height are to use centrally cleated shoes or a change of seat. So after that experiment perhaps the idea of a...

Asthma on the bike - affected by the cold?

I have suffered most of my life with asthma. I don't go out in cold damp air. If it's not so cold and dry I go riding with a tube type scarf that I roll up over my mouth and nose that makes me look a bit like a bank robber. It stops the cold air rushing down my throat. I certainly don't get my...
