    Bike Sebring 2018

Larry thanks for posting your epic ride videos. I confess to watching them avidly. Incredible really. Mate I won’t need a car to drive I’ll be riding with you on mint vintage vendettas. Mate maybe it might just happen. I plan on retiring in four short years. To ride a Sebring type event with...

    Going to a 1x11 setup?

Osiris whatever you choose it will make you faster. Enjoy that free speed. It’s a fantastic buzz. 1 x systems allow another design element and are gravel bike/ cross certainty. BB freedom lol We are so lucky I think to have such great variety of choice as I look askance at my venerable 3 x 7...

How important is weighted avg power over avg power?

Setting your Garmin like that will inflate your average power. You count the zeroes for power average as above. So that when you stop pedalling your power avg goes down quickly. Seems cruel I know lol. Hence the advent of weighted avg power to make us feel better about our chicken legs and...

    Bike Sebring 2018

David I use radar too and would now not ride without it. Safety measures what price. It’s weakness is 7 hr battery life though it can be extended with an add on bank. You do get a visual cue as to relative speed red being a high speed pass but no actual speed representation. Plenty reviews on...

    Going to a 1x11 setup?

Yes whilst the range is there the gaps are bigger. Looks good too if aesthetics matter but overall practicality is compromised. Opinionated 2 x bias

New S40: riding on the trainer vs on the road - seat issue?

I reckon the primary difference to riding on road compared to trainer is the variable inputs and upper body involvement. That means the old posterior gets a bit more of an active shake n bake on. And well if you hit a pothole repair or not you get a free spine alignment and vision check along...

New S40: riding on the trainer vs on the road - seat issue?

Yes definitely wait. Differences are manifest and I suspect particular to individual. Time spent in the saddle helps too. It’s amazing what you can get acclimated to just look at the crazies on dfs lol. Hot foot issues . I get them with cycling sandals over three hours. But cycling shoes...

How important is weighted avg power over avg power?

Note that when recording your metrics for power zeroes ie pedal out downhill they are counted in your avg power numbers . With cadence the zeroes are not counted. Note that on the Garmin edge devices I have used you have the option to count or not count the zeroes for these two metrics. However...

Where does the motivation go when commuting

Bazz mate if you are able and do ride to work then you are motivated full stop You are lucky to be able to commute and thoroughly motivated to do so. I congratulate you and am slightly jealous in truth. Now as for deriving greater benefits..........mental or physical well that’s a square root...

    Cruzbike KOM/QOM challenge 10-31-17 thru 10-10-18

This is what happens when cycling is not fun but taken too seriously. What a silly way to behave. Strava brings out the worst in some but also the best.

    Ouch

Barry that’s why I stick to the power tap hubs. Proven and protected. I have two one in a training wheel and one in an enve wheel. Changed out bearings myself on training wheel. Must have 50k on hub at least. On third rim.

    Facebook local haters

recently made aware of twenty or so comments discussing my cycling on the local roads. I ride a local residential loop as my main road to from is not suitable and too risky. The comments range from nasty to suggestions of my imminent death to get a flag. Bit disappointing as most people are...

    Klingon suntan lines.

Slim I don’t grow head hair. Exceptions being ears and nose. I hear rarely any original baldilocks jokes these days. That’s an invitation. Now the Klingon look doth fade.
