    Silvio 2.0 Picture Thread

Doug, you did say "the one Doug, you did say "the one you're building", not "the one you built". Just got back from a vacation, and there will be no further progress for me until I obtain the tools necessary to install the bottom bracket.

Silvio 2.0 Journey, Build, and Ride Video

Ivan, sorry to hear about Ivan, sorry to hear about your setback. Enjoy the learning period while you can, once it's over riding the bike will be second nature and you'll barely remember when it wasn't. Those wheels are loud and proud, really the defining feature of your build. Well done.

    Silvio 2.0 Build Questions

Wow, you guys work Wow, you guys work fast! After some blood, sweat, and tears, I have the rear suspension together: Doug, you said above: I don't think this is working as intended on my bike. I screwed the elastomer into the port, and it's now in there so tightly that it...

Silvio 2.0 and 27 Degree Seat Angle

Hi, I hope I'm wrong, but I Hi, I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think this is an easy mod. The seat back and frame are connected with long pieces of velcro. To raise the seat significantly, I think you would need a fairly sturdy wedge, almost as long as the seat back and as wide as the frame...

    Silvio 2.0 Build Questions

Thanks Ivan, I was reluctant Thanks Ivan, I was reluctant to jam anything together that I might not be able to get apart again. I have tried pushing and twisting. Will try again. Won't jamming part of the spring into a tight, threaded hole interfere with the spring's ability to expand and...

    Silvio 2.0 Build Questions

Doug, I'm not sure how to Doug, I'm not sure how to orient the rear elastomer spring. It has a slightly narrower end that mates perfectly with the "rear fork landing pad" plastic piece. I would therefore expect to insert the other, wider end into the frame port, but it won't fit. If I flip it...

    Silvio 2.0 Build Questions

At the start of my build, At the start of my build, hitting a problem that Lavs mentioned -- only 2 of the 8 bolt holes in the carbon fiber chainstays are positioned so that the bolts will fit through. I guess I have some filing to do.

Thanks for the tip John, but Thanks for the tip John, but the smaller/threaded part of the bolt goes through the holes crooked enough that I can't even get the larger side screwed onto its end.

    Silvio 2.0 Build Questions

Eric -- the chainstays have a Eric -- the chainstays have a raised area on one side, and the instructions state that side should face up. I did try flipping them over just to see, the holes still don't match up. Thanks for the suggestion.

Just Ordered the Silvio 2.0 Frameset

Mark, I unpacked my seat this Mark, I unpacked my seat this morning and it appears to be carbon fiber on the top, fiberglass on the bottom. You can see Eric's pictures in the Vendetta forum, Vendetta 2.0 unboxing and build thread (sticky thread). My Silvio 2.0 seat looks the same.

    Vendetta vs Silvio

Maybe Maybe it comes down to aerodynamics and frontal area, a longer torso needs to be more reclined to have the same frontal area as a smaller torso. That's all I can think of. I guess you're back to the drawing board -- good luck! You'll probably like either bike (assuming you can acclimate...

    Vendetta vs Silvio

I had no idea I know the bikes have different geometries but I had no idea that the Silvio and Vendetta would fit different size torsos. I'm curious to know more. Were there any details in the e-mail you received?

    Vendetta vs Silvio

You can order Lee, you can order via the Silvio product page but I believe frames aren't shipping yet (at least mine has not). Perhaps after Maria finishes RAAM. Back in early May John said delivery was about a month away.

    Vendetta vs Silvio

Lee Lee, keep in mind that there seem to be no Silvio 2.0's in the wild yet (except maybe John T's prototype). It's a very different bike from the previous versions that you may see on the road.
