1.5" is even way more than you need. All you need is nothing, really. The tops of my thighs will tick the bar every now and again; not enough to bother. It's a nice looking setup; anxious to see the final revision and hear how you get along with her. I sure do love mine, even after all these...

For fun: those yellow "curve ahead" signs

Maybe. I can't imagine showing up for a club ride decked out like that. You'd never hear the end of it. I have a hard enough time with my sandals and I have the coolest foot tan in the whole club! Mark

How much does your handlebar clear your knees? If you can drop that bad boy a little, I think you will be much happier. Also, why do you have so much cable flopping around in mid air (to the left of the headtube in the pic. Mark

I think they're talking about an assault on the hour record, so probably a velodrome. I'd guess LA. Mark

looking at the low end or ???

You know.... To tell the truth, if you're going to have a bike shop build your bike for you, there's a certain amount of logic in going ahead and getting a Freerider. The conversion kit is really more of a tinkerers thing and unless you have an interest in learning to do your own bike repairs...

Bob, To tell the truth, I glossed right over what you said, too. Great point, but we (I) missed it. It may have been a perfectly great idea and I'm sorry nobody saluted it. That's no reason to start a pi$$ing match. Please watch the tone. Mark

Yes, but now the UCI has taken all the fun out of racing as there are no more prototypes allowed. Only production models are allowed in UCI sponsored races. How you are supposed to "prove" a design or a component under race conditions is anybody's guess. Mark

Here's a picture: It might work. The downtube looks a little steep, but that can be worked around. She's a hardtail, I'm sure you noticed. You can run 650c wheels on it if you want skinny tires. If you are tall and or long legged, the bike will probably be too small. If you are on the...

    Carrying Case for Silvio

I would think a standard hardshell box would work, though you would probably have to take the handlebar off and collapse the TFT. I doubt you would get lucky enough to just rotate the bars to the side as you collapse the TFT, but who knows? Mark

    650B thoughts?

No comment on 650b tires, but I will at that after thousands of miles, I find I am still fine-tuning my ride. Downhills at speed have taken the most dialing, getting comfortable and confident being the key issues. I'm kind of nxious for the windy season to come to test my skills with...

I agree with WS about the bar placement needing to be low. I've run mine both ways and I like them so they just clear my knees. I also agree that the Origin 8 bars splay your arms out into dirty air just a little. When going aero on downhill runs, I squeeze my knees to the headtube and my...
