    Stand for parking a Silvio

I have not, but no reason why it couldn't be done. Jack likes this kind of stand: http://www.bikerackshops.com/SS37010.html For the front wheel, of course. I think you'd be hard pressed to build anything for under twenty bucks. Mark

New Silvio on the road CBSV-058

Really? I find that to be no issue. All the weight is in the front end, so you don't have to worry about leaning the back end too much. Just lean the front end, it won't go anywhere. If room is tight, don't forget the front end can fold back against the seat pan, too. If worse comes to...

New Silvio on the road CBSV-058

Drew, That's a fine looking bicycle! Don't push yourself on mastering the nuances of the Silvio. After you get the basics, you will be fine tuning your riding style for months; I think that's half the fun of it. I'm half anxious for the Santa Ana winds this fall. Crossing high winds have...

found some extra power in the Silvio

Absolutely! That's why we tie ourselves to the pedals!!! So now, I suppose we'll have a hard time hanging on with you, eh? Mark

    My Little Cruzer Update

I think you can all see why I have been so..... absent around here. This is the first of my children to go very far frrom home, let alone tackle such an ambitious undertaking. We are very proud of her and extremely happy in the program and what it has done for our family. It's the greatest...

    My Little Cruzer Update

The trip up to get my daughter went really fast for a four hour drive. I was at the gate about an hour early and they sent me packing. That was OK, though, because I needed more coffee anyway. The place was packed with parents anxious to see their kids and kids that were anxious to see their...

    My Little Cruzer Update

I've been on again off again in my diligence to the Cruzbike Forum. I claim Obcessive Compulsive Disorder as my excuse. Please allow me to elaborate. On July 19th, I took my little cruzer and dropped her off at the Youth challenge Program http://www.ngycp.org/site/. It's a five and a half...

    My Little Cruzer Update

We got the first report card and Mariah is pulling all A's! As I said before, she made color guard and in September, marched in the Pinedorado parade in Cambria, I believe. Here's some pictures of that. She's the one on the right side, with the rifle. Here's a video I found while rooting...

    Maria's next record attempt

A little late to the celebration party here, I know. Been busy with family and usual fall chaos around my house. Certainly, I have been paying attention and was well aware of Maria's success> I've been so distracted, though, that I haven't been able to focus on too much more than my own...

Conversion Kit Assembly questions, fork adapter

I had some of the same issues, Jim. The thing with the tab that rests against the fork leg. Be sure and install your brakes and see where your pads hit. You will probably find you'll need to shim that tab to get your brake clearance. You're going to have fun when you get this thing running...

    Will my bike parts work?

Nope, I don't think it will work. From what I've found, your rear hub (front on the Silvio) is 135 mm; mountain bike witdth. Plus, your bike has v-brakes, Silvio needs caliper. The killer, to me, would be the low gearing. A 48 tooth big ring won't give you much top end. Mark

    Commute to work

As most of you know, I try to ride to work three times a week. The last few weeks have been tough. We had a trip to central California one weekend, my wife had pretty major surgery the next week, so my commuting miles really suffered the last few weeks. The change in weather has been...

    my new Silvio

I found that ergonomically, brifters make a way cool place to grab hold and change your hand position. On a Silvio, it's important for long grinds to have a good, comfortable place to grab the bars. The end of a Origin 8 Gary bar is great, but the brake hoods of a Campy Brifter are a nice...

Silvio Cruzbike Site Entry - Warning

You are correct. That's where we learned about poofters and Fosters and arrogant bastards. Mmm, speaking of which..... A bottle of arrogance sounds awfully good about now. Mark
