    First ride on first conversion

Hi Bryanmcn, For the last Hi Bryanmcn, For the last question, there's a big difference (at least on my Sofrider) of turning the handlebars to the right (which is more stable) than to the left. As far as BB/triple ring with 6 speed cassette, I believe that the 6 speed cassette uses the...

    New Silvio build

About the trainer, I have so Almost. :) The trainer cylinder (what the wheel rests on) will spin the opposite direction that it was intended. It's possible that this is bad for some trainers. Also, the frictional force between the wheel and the cylinder will now point in opposite...

    New Silvio build

Hi Mike, Looking nice!  Well Hi Mike, Looking nice! Well done. By the way, I think you want the trainer to face the other direction so the wheel is turning the same way it would for a RWD bike. (And, for the record, I would have done it your way too until John pointed it out. :) )...

2,000 Miles on my Sofrider this year!

Hi, @Eric: I've been Hi, @Eric: I've been particularly bad at getting riding in these last few months. It's just too depressing when it's both dark and cold as far as getting my @$$ out off bed and onto my bike to ride to work. I've still gotten some nice rides in during the weekends...

    will a Jamis Komodo work

Hi, If your stand-over height Hi, If your stand-over height is only 2 inches, I'm a little worried about the seat height. If you look at the conversion kit, the gears don't need to fit inside the fork. So a road fork would work. But I (strongly) recommend against a carbon fork...

    will a Jamis Komodo work

Hi Coy Boy, Doug Burton says Hi Coy Boy, Doug Burton says you need 4 inches from your stand over to the height of the seat. It looks like you'll (probably?) be o.k. on seat height, but it will be close. You flip the front fork around, so the disc brake mounts will be in the way...

Problem with missing conversion pieces/folding threadless stems

Hi, I got the stem riser and Hi, I got the stem riser and I think it fits beautifully. It has a bolt for attaching itself to the star nut and felt solid before I tightened the two bolts at the base. Now to get the rest of the parts I'm waiting for to get started on the rest of the...

front Derailleur bracket is too small to fit around cruzbike tube

Hi, I believe the "downtube" Hi, I believe the "downtube" on the conversion kit is 34.9 mm. They do sell derailleurs that work on that diameter. I don't know if you can find just the clamp to use the derailleur you already have or not.... Good luck, Charles

Hi Eric, Very nicely done!  I Hi Eric, Very nicely done! I like the video (event the smart@$$ comments from the camera man). You are really zipping along for somebody who basically just hopped on one of these. One comment from people who first ride a Silvio and then a V is that the...

Next Shocker mtb good for conversion?

Hi Jon, I'd be worried that Hi Jon, I'd be worried that the seat height is too tall. It looks like you can choose either 24" or 26" wheels. If you aren't quite tall enough for the seat with 26" wheels, 24" wheels might work. Cheers, Charles
