Bar Mitts and Bar End Mirrors

Hi BK, I did look at your Hi BK, I did look at your pictures, but I never zoomed in to look at the mirrors until just now: So (1) With the fairing, you are much less likely to need bar mitts (although it depends on the coverage) (2) You're right. The way you have the...

Bar Mitts and Bar End Mirrors

Hi, A few weeks ago, I saw posted here a link to scooter bar mitts that were quite reasonably priced (~$16). The problem I had is that I have bar end mirrors and the mitts would interfere with that. Problem solved: For more details and pictures, you can visit my blog...

Problem with missing conversion pieces/folding threadless stems

Hi John, I thought about Hi John, I thought about doing exactly that, but I think there are a couple problems. The original riiser is too big for the pivot clamp (C3). And even if it fit, it would be above the folding joint which I think would put too much stress on the joint itself...

First Ride on Silvio since Aug 16th Crash

I agree with Mick.  I think I agree with Mick. I think my problem is actually not having a fat butt. I've got not very much padding there naturally and I find the seat padding a bit thin. If I doubled the padding on the pan, I think I'd be Sitting pretty.

Problem with missing conversion pieces/folding threadless stems

Hi, First, my (used) conversion kit was taken off of a converted bicycle, so it is missing certain parts. Using the parts list as the reference, I am missing C2 (dowel pin and 2 bolts), C5 (ahead tensioning bolt extention) and C6 (insert coffee). And just to make things more...

Gearing options for Shimano Ultegra Triple

You'll need the chain long You'll need the chain long enough to safely shift to big-big (52-34), so you'll probably need a new chain. What I don't know is how big is the granny gear on your triple. If it is a 72 BCD, it looks like it can handle down to a 24T granny gear. If it is 92...

Hi Ken, I get recumbutt when Hi Ken, I get recumbutt when sitting for 2 hours or more. I keep meaning to upgrade the cushions to soemthing like memory foam, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. Finding the ride pads, I think, would make quite a difference. Cheers, Charles

    Crankset

Hi Chris, 175mm is almost Hi Chris, 175mm is almost long for a recumbent crankset, but if that's what you're used to, then that's probably not an issue (I have 170mm and no issues). I don't see any other issues, assuming that the necessary bottom bracket fits into the conversion kit...
