If you have a horse that wants to race you have to race it. If you have a V that wants to be in the front, you have to race it too. I luv the design of the bike. Total classic. It needs to be shown.

    Starting and stopping

If I am on a big hill, I don't choose the easiest gear as I mash down with my clipped on foot and on the same crank revolution I stamp down with the other foot but don't clip in until I am underway. It's not easy. If you need to abort just put the unclipped foot down again. If I choose the...

    Took The Plunge (figureatively)

Yep... And then you play around with different handlebar configurations and it again feels a whole lot different too. I always respect the bike and give it a pre-check before riding. The other day I had slicks on and it was impossible to avoid a buddle on a corner so even going into it very...

I remember driving the long loop last year seeing what it was like. I have been watching your video around the track on the iPad. It looks quite dark at 6:30am. If you were going at century speed would you have cooked in that jacket? The other thing is ... Is it really that dark on that race...

So do we get a chance to get on the Sebring track and practice? I wouldn't mind getting down there a week early so I am in the flow.

Ok... I'll try and get a small and if it doesn't fit, I'll swap.

    New cheap Cruzbike

Emmm if it could have a bracket for disc brakes then it's possible to put smaller wheel rims with thicker tires. This would make it more confortable if there isn't any suspension. Personally I feel safer on bigger tires (25mm min and 33 mm for rough roads or learning)

Part of the registration asks about shirt size. I am a euro medium. Does that equate to USA small?

    XShifter...new wireless shifting option

The pledge that Paul Gallagher told me was the super early bird | xshifter combo ... it was going for $309 ... it includes 2 xshifters and an xremote. He said it was suitable for recumbents and it would have a TT remote bar end which is exactly what I want.

    XShifter...new wireless shifting option

Posted by Paul Gallagher (Creator) As we close out Kickstarter, I need to thank all the backers from the bottom of my heart. It’s always been a dream of mine to have my own business. Thanks to your support XShifter is starting in a very dramatic way. I promise you bigger things are coming. You...

Diet: Low Carb and Ultra Cycling

Hey... I cooked a most amazing meal yesterday. It was salmon that had been marinated and put on the griddle. Done to perfection so the skin was crispy with finely chopped almonds served with stir fried broccoli , carrots and asparagus and a little mayo. I tell you it's xmas every day.

    UV protection

I use these and definitely give them a soak, your arms are the air conditioner of the body. It's amazing when they are wet how cool they become at 30mph. In mid summer this year Murcia (Spain) it got a little higher than 52c. I don't go out when it's like that. I prefer to have a bullet proof...

I signed up for the century. God bless each and every one.

    Little tweaks

Ok decided. I am a backer of xshifter. Gone for the combo and I will go with the TT remote. Shame I won't use it for Sebring 2017. So what shall it be now. The century, the 12 hour or the 24 hour? Never done a race but I am sure any of those three would be orbital. Norwegian air only charges €60...

    XShifter...new wireless shifting option

Well ... Mr Xshifter himself has said the sound of the xshifters are quieter than the SRAM etap. So two days left.

    XShifter...new wireless shifting option

Ok.... The xshifter looks good... But what's that I hear? Do you think xshifter operational gear changes are distracting? Getting the TT remote... Is that a freebee or you have to pay extra for that?

What did you do to your Cruzbike today?

I guess you are ok with that??? Just that idea of being in the same space suffering doesn't warm me up one bit. But sure see your determination. Ratz listens to audiobooks...

    Little tweaks

I have another poor reason to keep the existing brake configuration. I think it makes the bike faster on a flat TT course. Hills and mountains are a different matter. Disc brakes allow late braking and will allow you to break all existing records on mountain races. Aka the Jason. But it takes...

    Little tweaks

I know... I sure do. I use disk brakes twice as much on my other bike than the V. I don't like getting the V extra dirty. Just don't want the extra expense and if I do it will be with the new V20 coming out soon. It would have to be hydraulic too.
