    2017 Raven Rock Ramble

Hi Jeffrey, I certainly stand corrected (Thanks Jim!) - and I apologize for leading you astray on tie-wraping the derailleur side together. (it has been so long I forgot) Yes, remember now - the other side was easy to tie-wrap together. Good Luck - and let us know how it is going!

    Larry Needs a NickName

Pretty funny - First time I have heard it was tonight! I like the beep-beep. But I really the the "beep-beep" (or "meep--meep") of the Road-Runner in the cartoon the best. I actually named my Vendetta's "Road Runner-1 - Yellow", and Road Runner-2 - Red. I need a really loud Road-Runner...

    2017 Raven Rock Ramble

I hit something on my track once doing about 25mph - Bang - and I expected the rear wheel to go flat but it never did. That was at about 80 miles into 145. When I got done, the tire was down to about 30 psi. No wonder I was going slower. It did feel a little squishy too. It was a pretty bad...

    2017 Raven Rock Ramble

I love the tubeless - Road them for over a year without a single flat. I damaged my drive tire and needed to mount a new Pro One but could not before this ride, so I rode my Conti 4000 - with a latex tube - guess what - No tubeless = more flats for me! I am just glad it happened within a mile of...

Chain WAXing (yes it's that easy) - and other mysteries of this art!

I rode 12-hours in the pouring rain a year ago at Calvin's challenge. Wax held up great - had to re-wax after, but pretty impressive stuff!

Want to trade a Vendetta 2.0 for a Silvio

This is a great tool to get a number to start with: http://www.recumbents.com/wisil/misc/crank_angle.asp I am pretty comfortable with anything between 135-155. I think 150 is my sweet-spot fit. Anything over 155 and my knee bends too much on the back-strike and is detrimental to me. I you are...

Want to trade a Vendetta 2.0 for a Silvio

Great photos Paul - looks like I am late to the fitting party  - so all I have to say is: What ratz said (He is after all the expert in all things Cruzbike) . So do what he says and you will have bugs in your teeth in no time! Good luck, and we look forward to hearing your story and...

Want to trade a Vendetta 2.0 for a Silvio

Paul, Usually a longer wheelbase gives you a softer ride. I am not sure what you have done to try and tune the bike to yourself, or if you have tried to follow the "learn to ride MBB" in this forum, but getting the bike to fit you is critical. I would suggest you sitting on it and having someone...

Want to trade a Vendetta 2.0 for a Silvio

Paul, Try this: Build a rigid foam tapered incline behind your seat to bring you up to 30 degrees. That will pretty much give you the 97% of the feel of a Silvio without having to swap with someone. I know it can be difficult to learn to ride laid back at 20 degrees. Practice with it at 30...

Dynamic-boom vs. Fixed-boom Recumbent Bicycle Power Production

It is always best to run test back to back on the same day. Even then the wind may not be the same even if you intervals are short. A power meter is also just about a requirement, as your HR can be very fickle. Good Luck and waiting to see more testing results.

    while saving for a v20 I made .....

I agree - very impressive. You could make the rear much stronger by bring a stay from the rear drop-out to the frame location under the seat.

    Bessie's Creek 2017

Well it has been 2 full weeds since this race. I finally have my ride report finished. I think it takes more hours writing these than the event actually takes! :) Here is a Dropbox Link to the PDF version. Enjoy...

Dynamic-boom vs. Fixed-boom Recumbent Bicycle Power Production

I agree with Jason - I seem to be able to get higher power numbers (especially for longer times) on my trainer. I personally think this is because I am able to concentrate all my energy just on turning the pedals. When I go out in the real world and have to balance, turn, concentrate on traffic...

    Bessie's Creek 2017

I am so wiped. Officially 141.9 miles in 6 hours. The wind was a constant 20- 25mph all day. It actually just kept getting stronger as the day went on. I was the fastest recumbent, but I was also the slowest recumbent! The wind was just brutal. Like climbing a 7 mile hill at 5 % grade every 21...

    crash advice

Hopefully you filed a police report, if you did not - see if you still can. This should really go over to his insurance company, but if he insists that he does not want it to, I would get something in writing that he agrees to pay for your damages. Best advise is to still get checked out...

    Vendetta Handlebar testing

I went out to my secret test facility (Private 1/4" high school track) yesterday to test some of the handlebars that Ratz sent me along with some of my own. Here is a list of the handlebars tested: 12" Flat bar "stubby" Syntace Racelite 420-down Syntace Racelite 420 (up) Syntace...
