What I did to prepare for Sebring 2017 ---today

Yesterday was day 2 of rest week with day 1 being the usual day off. Because I'm sort of mean; I front loaded the rest week with a 90 minute effort. Day 2 is usually a 60 minute hard effort. On the more general training front the first day of riding on a rest week is usually the worst; a lot...

Farther, Faster, Fitter, Fun - (4F - The unofficial Cruzbike training team and support group)

I got a request from xpert33 to join the 4f trainer road group, but no other info if that's someone from this thread of if it's just someone random that thinks the group is interesting without knowing the goals. If that's anyone her drop me a private conversation and we'll get you setup.

Farther, Faster, Fitter, Fun - (4F - The unofficial Cruzbike training team and support group)

Odd I wind up spinning about 95-115 on the trainer usually about 108. Outdoors I tend to drift towards 88-95. I suspect I'm spinning faster because of the 155mm cranks; trading effort with heart and lungs to spare the wimpy muscle in my legs. That said the V20 always seem to me to, try and...

Help...ride south leads to salt encrusted bikes!

Yuck road salt is the worst; that stuff will percolate into all sorts of bad spaces; If you can keep the bike cold < 10F the salt effect stays much more neutral. If you are still on the road you need to chemically neutralize the salt without spending a fortune. Get to a store and buy a gallon...

What I did to prepare for Sebring 2017 ---today

Looking for a cable to charge the Garmin 1000 on the handlebars without have to worry about snapping off the usb connector inside the gps head-unit. The usb connector on a landscape 1000 is right up at against the bar; sit-up and belly the unit and it's gonna snap. Problem solved with recent...

What I did to prepare for Sebring 2017 ---today

And training block Part #1 done. Normally with Sweet spot we'd have spread this out over 6-8weeks. Instead thanks to the super early date of Sebring (man march would be so much warmer and more timely) it's a compressed 4 week with more volume; and then recovery and then a quick more hard 3...

    My journey to a V20

Alex that wasn't how I was hoping we'd lure you over to the tribe, but dam I excited to have you in the fold. I was pretty devastated when I heard about your accident; and no I'm stoked about your progress. Looking forward to photos of you and your new ride.

    Hammer time

Sort of chose itself. The boarder was the only way to do the transition from the existing light to the dark, we ran it around the whole room to give it the visual infinity when it hit the existing trim. Didn't want to redo the trim because of the added expense and it would unbalance the rest of...

What I did to prepare for Sebring 2017 ---today

Have to concur; training for iowa my max heart rate on the trainer was 165-169 once or twice and it hurt. Pretty sure I rode the whole hour at 175bpm. Outdoors + Event = high heart rate.

What I did to prepare for Sebring 2017 ---today

Ok today I got to do some over-under which are my favorites. Yep; hey stop laughing they are fun. These workouts are great because the get your confidence up that you can attack; rest; attack; repeat. Those big rest blocks give you a chance to see how far and how fast you can get you heart rate...

Zwift - Cruzbike Activities (races and group rides)

We've also go a new Zwifter local to me. SteveK just got a V20 and has been doing Traditional Base Training while adapting to the V20; he's a Zwiftaholic and strong like bull. Finally can lay down some fast miles in the summer with another v20. He's not a forum posting guy or not yet; but...

    XShifter...new wireless shifting option

Trust me if they are ½ as good as e-tap nothing to worry about. Wireless is now proven. It was made for the V20/S30 and as soon as wide range is here game over for wires in the future; yeah it's that good; you have been warned. :)

Anyone planning on trying the M5 two-spoke wheels?

I did speak to them via email; my impression is that the carbon weave direction on the 2 spoke is also not meant for the horizontal tire pressure of a tubeless which is 90 degree out of phase with a tube clincher. They specifically said NO don't do it. Basically they walked away from my order...
