    Portland Cruzbike retreat

OK Ratz - I guess if you go to anything - you'd better go to this! I guess I must have been sleeping when this was first posted - sure would love to come myself. Of course it just happens to be the exact weekend that the (HPRA) Northbrook and Kenosha veledrome races are being held, and when I...

Diet: Low Carb and Ultra Cycling

May the force be with you Hardy. Ride safe, ride smart - and if you need to eat something whilst riding- eat it! I'm looking forward to your ride report already!

What did you do to your Cruzbike today?

$16 for the ventist pad - a ittle steep, but expected! But kind of incredible that they want $29 for shipping for this little piece of pad - I don't want it that bad!

What did you do to your Cruzbike today?

Jason, how did you get the "extra" Ventist pad for your headrest?

Diet: Low Carb and Ultra Cycling

I have not done this personally. Hardy - Great results! It kind of defies my normal logic flow. I was eating lots of meat and veggies - did not really monitor how much fat or protein or anything else I ate - just did not eat anything with sugar or processed flour really- and was never really...

New to Cruzbike. Can't decide between Silvio or Vendetta

I have had and raced both the Vendetta and the Silvio. I got the Silvio first. Honestly I could not tell a comfort difference between the 2 from the comfort perspective. After riding the Silvio for 3 months I just had to get a Vendetta. The stock handlebars, boom, slider, seat and headrest are...

Diet: Low Carb and Ultra Cycling

To add to this: I also have been fasting for 12 hours before the race (nothing since about 7pm the night before) - nothing for breakfast - just a cup of strong black coffee, which for me is a sure-fire laxative to clear me out - (without being to graphic!) :)

Diet: Low Carb and Ultra Cycling

I can attest to having a similar experience as Bob, although due to my training regime, I must admit that I only took a 4-week block of "aerobic rides". Thinking back, I'll have to say I remember my first week and first ride (after being on the diet for only 5 days) was most severe! Test #1 : 3...

What did you do to your Cruzbike today?

What Rick said. Awesome ride and power output up that climb! Jason you need to consider Lake Taupo in New Zealand(Nov 26 I think). 100 miles around lake with killer climbs thrown in. You could whip up on them bad!

    2016 Calvin's Challenge video

Thanks slim - My feet unfortunately still got wet, as I should have plugged up the "ventilation" hole that was on the front of the shoes. The recumbent foot position just sticks those holes front and center, practically inviting rain water in. My feet were soaking wet when done, but I still...

Diet: Low Carb and Ultra Cycling

My 2 cents Hardy: For me the first 6-8 weeks I went "ultra" low carbs (50 grams) because I wanted to loose some weight also, which did happen. About 25 pounds in 6-7 weeks. But the diet I am following does allow about 15o grams of carbs for a more maintenance level (which is what I am doing...

What's on your feet - talking cycle shoes

She definitely would not want to go shopping (or riding) with me. I think I subconsciously I make sure I "clash" , or at least don't match. Not that I try to do it, it just happens :0 - Drives my wife nuts - maybe it's a gender thing.. ? On no - don't get me started - I can feel it - here I go...

Wow - so sorry to here that. Hopefully you're car insurance will help. Anyway, Here is a listing on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/291749162115 It is not his, but is selling for a friend (per my question: "I am selling the bike for Neil Turner, who bought it from Maria Parker. 2016 Calvin's Challenge video

Funny - real life thing just happened to me today: I was walking out of the local tag office where I renewed the tag for my truck. I passed a guy, who "in my estimation", was my "elder" - i.e. older than me. Hi said "Hi, you came on the right day - no lines", and he said "Yes - Sir!" Moral of...

    2016 Calvin's Challenge video

Thanks Skip for the Ego boost (I feel all warm and fuzzy now! ;)) - although I suspect that most any of you who could get out there and ride about 2 hours a day could probably do pretty much the same thing! :) I'm just an "old man on a fast bike".

Thansk - but I wish I had his youth - and I think he's been riding/racing for longer than me - I think he's more into tir's though! :0 Yes - he was on the same lap as me - He caught me because I was really loffing off those last 2 hours - He ended up with 250 miles - same as me! I saw on his...
