I agree many winters in a row now. Having heard about @3bs many rides I move that we hold the next retreat at 3bs's house. We won't need to bring any vehicles 'cuz there will be lots of very nice ones. If more than 18 people plan to attend there are several more N+1 's that can multiply that...

Good luck with the cables. Securing them to the boom, handlebar, fork parts that rotate together with the cables in such a way that they don't rub on the head tube could be quite a challenge without completely removing them - but if you can get the bolt out easily then you could just zip tie...

I'm at the cheaper end of the market... The only "aero" helmet I've used is this one from Bend-It Cycling. https://www.benditcycling.com/Recumbent_Gear.html It is comfortable, well ventilated, light weight, visor which fits huge glasses underneath... It probably is not as aero and is less...
