    2016 - Social Tour Season

We run them in EMS blink mode on the rides; and nobody complains about them at all, what I get is a lot of "where can I get those". If I run a steady on-off pattern that tends to annoy people. The only time I shut them off is if I'm running in seasoned pace line where the group is good enough...

    Cruzbike drop bars wanted

At 5'11" you might find the old stock bars a bit wide; the Salsa is narrower after being cut and points the brifters forward. There is a new CB handlebar in the works and it follows the Salsa geometry sans the need to cut them but not something you can order just yet. I'm 5'9" on a good day and...

    Cruzbike drop bars wanted

Depends on your body size. I have the several of the stock bars that come with the 2.0 forward. If you are normal to big those are good. If you are smaller you might want to source something a like a Midge On-One or a Salsa Woodchipper II. For the 1.5 I'd be getting the Salsa. Note you...

Farther, Faster, Fitter, Fun - (4F - The unofficial Cruzbike training team and support group)

If you have older skewers then CB always push the edge of the lengths they came in. With the advent of 132.5mm frames the "Standard" skewer has been gravitating towards one for 135mm wheels. The new ones just work better. CB always included a longer one with the frame kit in the past, and...

    2016 - Social Tour Season

Those are from the retreat; they are really cool; they are club fit; and the actual jersey has the technical design specs of the bikes on them. I don't know if they are selling them on the website or not it's quite possible they are reserved for special functions. If you really want them; I'm...

    Slow Ride

Read dcrainmakers 820 mini-review if that had exisited when we got the 1000's we'd have gotten the 820's instead. http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2016/07/garmin-edge-820.html

    2016 - Social Tour Season

Green Quest is other daughter's bike; and the Q559 isn't redundant as we use that for lessons & trail riding; but yes we did roughly that with the Quickr's but you can't get the same position exactly; and the flex in the front boom is too much when doing the hard core training at 125% FTP. For...

    2016 - Social Tour Season

Two last ones of why I say doing the slow speed drills is the best practice. This would be after about 36 miles on the Silvio ever; first 20 doing drills in the parking lots to humor dad. Showing off And yes she was moving pretty fast for the stationary camera lens

    Slow Ride

Yeah that's really gone south; Strava dropped support for it; only the Wahoo app and RidewithGPS app support it well. With Wahoo Releasing the ELEMNT the writing is on the wall. I seriously can't recommend the RFLKT or the discontinued RFLKT+ to anyone anymore; I have two of them in the parts...

And the rest And of course the required video clip of the day..... Taken about 2 minutes before she dropped me on the next segment; can't give that woman a 1 minute lead if you want to see her before the next rest stop. https://www.dropbox.com/s/ftmdatsir5qbktk/IMG_5557.mp4?dl=0

    2016 - Social Tour Season

In the north of the U.S., August marks the start of Social Bike Tour season. So here's a thread to post those events. Tour de Tonka 2016 was on our list for this summer; it's usually 3000+ bikers riding routes from 16 to 100 miles. It's one of the better run Social tours I've been to over the...

    Take-aways from Portland retreat

The following parts list is the items on the V20's we took to the retreat. If nothing else the Fiks:Reflictive products deserve everyone attention; they allow you to make your Cruzbike passively reflective without making your beautiful bike look like it has the measles. The active lighting is...

The Low Down on Carbon Bike Tech.

What was the report from TdF this year. 60% of the peleton was on tubeless clinchers this year instead of tubular. Clincher tech has indeed come a long way.

    Take-aways from Portland retreat

There are old sayings in the world because for some reason the universe likes to ensure some level of consistency, or so it seems to me. Two of these sayings we've all said or heard are: "You can't go home again," and "You don't get to choose your Family." So as I was riding on my V20 trying to...

Farther, Faster, Fitter, Fun - (4F - The unofficial Cruzbike training team and support group)

I get the trying to figure it out part; I waffled and hemmed and hawed for month last winter reading every article and trying several different routes. The big barrier for me was cost and compatibility with short cranks, q-rings, and the current V20/S30 clamping system. In the end pedal based...

    Visibility Flags

Yeah one advantage of roads with danger spots but low traffic is if you spot the approaching car in time you can intentionally ride wobbly to make them unsure. Steady state traffic no such luck
