    Q ring upgrade - Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh......

Obviously more testing is needed on my end now that I have QXL Q-rings too. I road the regular ones in Calvins on the #1 setting, but I just set it there because reading the instructions I wanted more speed on the flats. I am not really sure if it gave it too me. I am waiting for my summer...

    New Vendetta V20

Heal up Abbott - we've all been there - it's obvious you love the bike and there's no stopping you now!

jon's v2 the second last yella story

Very cute for Mrs. Ratz! For a name of course it's too wordy - but if we had "bumper stickers", they could say: "I may be a recumbent, but I'm in front of you!" Right now they are the "yellowV" , and "redV"! Other name: maybe: Roadrunner 1 & 2, or "Beep-Beep 1 2" but with names like that, one...

New rider in Germany with some questions

Yes - it is in the works, but I don't think it is anything that will be available this summer. Hopefully Maria or Jim can chime in about the details.

    Kaboom!

I resemble that remark - at least this year I do. :( Hopefully one trend I hope to stop at this point in time!

New rider in Germany with some questions

This is a pair of scissor type clamps. Their purpose is to hold the tubular parts of the headset in place. It is hard to explain how to install them. You have to insert them into the frame somehow. They are taped together to hold them in the relative position they need to be in. When positioned...

jon's v2 the second last yella story

I do not - and I'll guess I'll have to ponder that awhile - open to suggetions. Of course, I've got a yellow V2, and red V2o - guess I'll need to "names". Ratz, who knows, There may be a day in the not so distant future that I'll let my "un-named" V2 switch garages from mine to yours. Right...

    Kaboom!

That is going to be a thread that I'm watching for too! I suspect what we see transpire in the next decade with the switch to bents (especially in ultras) is going to be nothing short or phenomenal! We've got front row seats!

    Kaboom!

You are too kind Bob -I may have taken up the cross of the short cranks, but true credit me thinks goes to Ratz and Rick, especially for the Q-rirngs and XD-15 BB. The beautiful thing about this forum is that everyone is so willing to share their knowledge. No one keeps the good stuff to...

    Kaboom!

Way to go Joe!!!! Way to go! OK - I'm gonna go out on a limb here - and say you kinda like the short cranks, Q-rings, and Xd-15 BB, right? I'de love to be able to say: "I told you so...!" :D:D:D:D

    It was a wonderful ride

Just dip in (i-phone) a jar of denatured alcohol. Gets the drool off, but of course the phone won't work after that! Yes - cat-ears are nice - have some too!

    Vendetta finally tested

Hi Abbot - I echo Jon's comments on Strava. Great at record keeping. Just join the Cruzbike Team and enjoy the fellowship. There really is not a competitive feel at all to the Team Cruzbike part of the Strava. Just ability to see each other's rides, where we ride around our homes, pictures...

First and second flat, same ride

Best thing you can do is zip-ty the fork to the chain-stay so they don't separate. Just leave it there all the time

Assault on Mt. Mitchell - 2015

I really like those wheels - might not have been the "best" choice for steep grades, but they look so good just sitting there! For anyone interested, here is my "ride report" on Dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/s/v3kwbs7skhm3gnx/2015%20AOMM%20ride%20report%20LarryO.pdf?dl=0 BTW: I did capture...

First and second flat, same ride

That happened to me on my Silvio one day too! 2 flats in the same day. Welcome to the school of hard knocks! I was so frustrated in hard hard it was to remove and re-mount the wheel. It was raining too. After that, and reading all the posts on this forum I got better at it!

Assault on Mt. Mitchell - 2015

Plan something later in the year - something to train for and look forward to - Wait for the heat to subside!

Assault on Mt. Mitchell - 2015

Correct - Mine of the 88's that I have the Cruzbike Vendetta logo on. I think Maria used the stock CB wheelset. Ben had some 58's I think. I'm obviously not at photogenic as Maria or Ben, so no pics of me! haha, but yes, same set-up at Calvins. Might not have been the best choice, but they...

Assault on Mt. Mitchell - 2015

Thanks everyone for all the comments. I am so tired - way more tired than I was after my 264 miles at Calvins 12hour 2 weeks ago. (Jon may be right: My pre-assualt on Mitchell a week ago and all my "crank length" testing last week was not the best plan.) I will write up my ride report (I...
